Circle of Contempt.....o boy you have improved.
It's been over three years since "Artifacts in Motion" and Circle of Contempt have been in the studio to give us their new Ep Entwine The Threads. After dropping Riku from the cast of members and added the new vocalist Denis Hautaniemi. His range on the album is very similar to Geoffrey Ficco from the Faceless Autotheism album. It addes more of a death metalish vocals. The guitars on this album are heavy and audible with solo's. This is Circle's attempt to become more progressive and it's very welcome. Such as on Tracks "To Entitle Vancany" and Entwine The Threads. The ep has all the goods of Artifacts in Motion but with solo's and a sight overabundance of syths. The syths add to the album but at times it is overbearing especially if you want to hear the riffs. The bass is not audible on this album at all. It wouldn't be bad if they added on here. My main complaint with the Ep is that it's very short. But, for an Ep this is a damn good continuation of this band and i cannot wait for the second album.

My first review on Spuntikmusic hopefully this works out.rThe HARRP machine is a progressive metal band from the U.K. A lot of people including myself are looking forward to this album and if it can wow us away like the single that was released a while ago. Let's see how it fairs?rThe production on this album is top-notch and precise and masterful very riff and drum beat can be heard with the best quality. The vocalist has excellent to superb clean vocals very mellow in a way. His screams are not mind-blowing but they get the job done. The Guitar work is very technical and not to flashy (i.e Marc Okubo from Veil of Maya). The use of syths in this album are used very tastefully but not overdone alot of the time it reminds me of African/Persian music it adds a more majestic feel to the album.rNow, here is the bad parts although this album is very short for a first debut(8 songs). There is not much here to dive into at times i personally found it lacking. About four songs in the structure of the song tend to blend into each other and becomes predictable. I wish the use of clean vocals was more present than his growls and change of style for each individual song could be a plus.rUltimately this is a let down but it's still solid work to any techie fan. 3.5/5 rCheck it out |

The Faceless Autotheism | 3.5 |
The Faceless release another album after their Planetary Duality album. The album is their longest album to date. This time they change thery'e style up a bit. This album takes a more progressive root than it's precursor. Starting off with a three part intro to the album. The first three tracks entitled "Autotheist Movement" part I,II,III takes elements such as softer vocals and a post rock atmosphere. This reminded me alot of progressive act such as Dream Theater. They keep they technical death metal side, but this isn't in your face as Planetary Duality.Micheal Keene takes advantage of this softer side of vocals. This is quite the change since in their previous work their has such little to none of this. The first thing you will notice they have changed instead the crazy use of drums bass and guitar to a more melodic and slower paced album. Evan brewer the new bassist is used quite well in this album, but he never shines as much as he should. The use of keys and synth are at their best in this album. It's sounds at times like you are in a orchestra pit. This album overall stayed consistent and overall a better outlet for the band. Instead of trying to be the fastest band in the world, they try to create a album which not only crosses the barrier into progressive death metal territory but is mellow and chill. The vocoder elements have been left to a minimum only to one song called "Hail Science".I enjoyed this album every much and i hope if you thought this band is bland and boring. Auto-theism is their way of saying "We evolve and create not repeat and rehash" |

Bury Tomorrow The Union of Crowns | 3.5 |
Union of Crown's is a metalcore album before anyone stops reading hear me out first.
This is their first debut album under Nuclear blast records, let's see how this stacks up. Fourth teen track affair about 55 mins in length. First thing you will notice is that this is run of the mill metalcore mixed with technical/melodic edge which is not bad. The guitars are sweeping, shredding that all the technical boys love.Think of The Air I Breathe with more melody. Actually that side saves this album from being mediocre metalcore in a sense. They use a mix between clean poppy vocals and harsh growls. The album shines the most on the first five tracks especially "An Honorable Reign" The main problems i have with the album is the length and atfer a while the songs do sound like the same. But it's a good release mind you probably one of the better metalcore release in a long time in my opinion. |

T.R.A.M. Lingua Franca | 4.0 |
The long expected release of "Lingua Franca" has been a long one. But,does this stack up to the hype? The answer is Hell yes it does. This release has frontman Abasi and Javier Reyes from Animals as Leaders and with gentlemen Terrazas, Adrian and Eric Moore.
"Lingua Franca" is a instrumentally based progressive/jazz fusion type of album. This EP which has six tracks with a full length around 30 minutes. The album takes the skills of the each member to mix a experience which will not be forgotten. During, my listen of the EP i was steady impressed by the flow of their music, It can be at a fast tempo then slow down without losing ground. Starting at the excellent guitar work from Javier and Abasi to the outstanding yet mellow feel of the mix bag of instruments Adrian can ditch out. Lastly,to percussion of Eric. This Ep complements each member's strength's without destroying the whole execution.
This is a excellent step for this up coming band. So, sit back and relax to T.R.A.M
