This album gets way to much hate...and a lot of it has to do with the fact that they were more of a cult popular band...who broke into the mainstream. Anytime that happens, all their former fans can't say enough how much they suck. Honestly I think a lot of it has to do with the fact, that suddenly there's so many other fans of the band...they aren't so personal to them anymore.
I love this album for several reasons. It's the first album that got me into Metallica after many years of just listening to hard rock. I love some of the heavy riffs in this album, especially in songs like "Wherever I May Roam", "Of Wolf And Man", "Sad But True", and "Don't Tread On Me". "The Unforgiven" is an amazing power ballad...and Nothing Else Matters is an awesome ballad. Metallica has their heaviest, most put together sound in this album, more than all the rest. James Hetfield also has his best voice here...still being very metal sounding, with a lower range. You don't have to agree with me, and I really don't care. Music is all about personal opinion, and how it feels for you. |
