The Fall of Troy Manipulator4.0
Although Manipulator is a great album, I don't believe it is as strong of a release as The Fall of Troy or Doppelganger. TFoT decided to go with a more pop influenced approach, which has extreme hardcore (insert expletive)s crying foul. I appluad TFoT however for trying something different, and not just rehashing the stuff they have been successful with. All in all, Manipulator is a great album, and a must have for any TFoT fan, but for those who are just getting in to them, I would suggest that you start with some of their earlier stuff.

My Morning Jacket Okonokos4.0
My Morning Jacket show with Okonokos that not only can they put out great studio albums, but can also put on a kick ass live show. Okonokos is one of the better live albums I've heard, and I would definatly recommend it.
Mastodon Blood Mountain4.5
Mastodon have crafted a modern masterpiece with Blood Mountain. The musical talent of this band is apparent, whether it be the sonic, jazz influenced guitars, or the thought provoking lyrics. While Mastodon stay close to their roots, the songs on this album will receive love from those who like things more mainstream.

All That Remains The Fall of Ideals2.0
This album falls short for me. This is the same cookie cutter stuff I've been hearing over and over again. Listening to this record bored me because it is just so repetitive.

Weezer Make Believe2.5
Weezer is dead. That's right everybody, the same Weezer that brought you masterpieces such as The Blue album and Pinkerton, is dead. Make Believe is a peice of steaming hemp rope. Weezer not only sold out with this album, but they did a bad job of selling out. While Beverly Hills is a catchy song, it is very poor as far as musical quality goes. I couldn't find one song on here that was above mediocre. Perfect Situation is my favorite from Make Believe, but it still isn't that good. Let's hope that Weezer either gets it together, and make better music, or break up. Personally after listening to this, I hope they break up.

Against Me! Reinventing Axl Rose5.0
Reinventing Axl Rose is one of the best albums of the millenium thus far. The music is very raw, yet at the same time very catchy and easily enjoyable. The music is original, and will have you humming the songs hours after listening to them. A definate must buy for anyone who claims to be punk.

Social Distortion Live At The Roxy Club4.0
Live at the Roxie is an excellent live record. The recording quality is great, the music playing is good, and Mike Ness does a good job of interacting with the crowd. This is must for fans of S.D., and a great buy for someone just getting into this band.

Weezer Pinkerton5.0
Pinkerton is Weezer's Magnum Opus. While I still like the Blue Album better, this album shows Weezer's song writing skills at their best. Whether it be River's soul searching lyrics, or the well crafted guitar and drums, Pinkerton is an instant classic. I happen to believe that it is the best album of the 90's. Buy this album now.

Weezer Weezer5.0
This sounds cliche, but words can't describe how good the Blue Album. Between this and Pinkerton, I would have to say that Pinkerton shows greater musical talent, but the Blue Album still kicks some serious ass. Say It Ain't So is the best song of the 90's, hands down. your money would be well spent on this.
Nas Illmatic4.5

Fugazi Repeater4.5
Fugazi take it to the next level with Repeater. Although 13 songs is still an excellent album, I think Repeater improves upon it with better lyrics and better muscianship. The guitar work on here is simple, but at the same time, very satisfying. Joe Lally isn't Flea, but his bass lines are realy nice and catchy. Brendan just kicks ass all over the place with his drumming. All in all, Repeater is an excellent album because it can be simple at times, and complex at times, but stays catchy and inventive all the time.
