The band got away from the sound on their previous album, which brought them sucess, and tried to do a new mature sound. Personally I found this a failure, and the fact that they even changed their look, wearing only preppy clothes to go with this new "I'm all grown up look" To me none of the songs on this album had the usual NFG sound, style or attitude. I personally found this album to be poor, and wouldn't recommend purchasing it.Angels and Airwaves We Don't Need to Whisper2.0Tom Delonge's post Blink-182 debut was full of mega-hype that led to a whole bunch of disappointment. The first single, "The Adventure" was actually an extremely catchy, song that was praise worthy of the hype I had heard about the album. But besides that the album is full of disappointments, with Tom trying too hard to make everysong a masterpiece. You can tell there are many good ideas in the songs, but they could never connect to get them over the top. The entire album sounds forced and over produced to the point that they cannot play the material live without a recording. You should only go so far when trying to make you songs sound more complex, and Tom went too far in this case!Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium2.5While many people feel this album is the best music the Chili Peppers have ever produced, and is one of the best rock albums to come out this year, i have to disagree. This album gets away from everything the Chili Peppers were about, leaving behind their unique, funk inspired sound. To me this album goes in the category of pop more then anything else. It was the Chili Peppers attempt to cash in, and they did succesfully, while pleasing many of their fans in the mean time. They didn't please me, and there wasn't one song that caught my attention. Nirvana is one of my top two, if not favorite band and for any Nirvana fan like this, this box set can not be anything but a 5, as it is 3 discs of rare, unreleased tracks, the last glimpse we will ever get of the genius which was Kurt Cobain. People probably will agree and thats fine because not everyone is a Nirvana fan, and if your not this is junk, but for anyone who likes Nirvana, or grudge in general, this is a master piece, something special that we might never get to experience again.Green Day American Idiot4.0The Killers Hot Fuss3.5My Chemical Romance Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge4.0New Found Glory Catalyst3.0Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits4.52003 Stone Temple Pilots Thank You4.5Reggie and The Full Effect Under the Tray4.02002 Nirvana Nirvana4.0Green Day Shenanigans4.0New Found Glory Sticks and Stones3.52001 Green Day International Superhits4.5Jimmy Eat World Bleed American3.02000 Green Day Warning3.0New Found Glory New Found Glory3.0SR-71 Now You See Inside2.0Sr-71's album got success off their hit single Right Now, featured in the semi-success teen comedy Dude Where's My Car. Besides that single the only other song that caught my attention was Politically Incorrect. These two song to me were the only good quality songs on the album, and i believe the band put these songs as the first and second, as when people listen to the cd they believe its of quality music. But in my opinion the rest of the songs dont keep your interest, won't catch your ear and show the bands not capable of writing success music. Its just another exaple of a one hit wonder, that the majority of people haven't herad of.Reggie and The Full Effect Promotional Copy4.01997 Green Day Nimrod4.0Aerosmith Nine Lives3.01996 Nirvana From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah4.01994 Aerosmith Big Ones3.5Nirvana MTV Unplugged in New York4.5Green Day Dookie4.51993 Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Greatest Hits4.51992 Alice in Chains Dirt3.51991 Nirvana Nevermind4.5Metallica Metallica4.01987 Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction4.51985 Billy Joel Greatest Hits Volume I & II (1973 - 1985)4.51981 Queen Greatest Hits3.51975 Aerosmith Toys in the Attic4.0
