As much as punks will diss this soundtrack and say it is a disgrace to the original bands, I have to beg to differ. Judging it only on the track listing is not a smart thing, as many of the bands abandon their pop-punk (none of these bands are emo, morons) sounds and take on the sound of the original artist. The best example of this is Taking Back Sunday's cover of "Suburban Home / I Like Food" which sounds like it came straight from the 80s. Most of the songs are just like this. The only covers that deserve the bashing and hate the whole album has been receiving is the covers of "Let's Have a War", which no bands seems to be able to do correctly and the cover of "Sonic Reducer" because it is just wrong for anyone to cover a Dead Boys song.

Johnny Cash American IV: The Man Comes Around4.5
"Hurt" is what captured my attention first, just like everyone else. "Personal Jesus" was next, then the rest came. I didn't know this was an album, of covers when I first listened to it. Knowing now doesn't affect my opinion of it. I didn't believe "Hung My Head" was a cover, especially a Sting cover. But listening to any of the orginals after listening to Cash's is nothing. He does a much better job than the original artists on their own songs.

Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution A Call To Arms3.5
I loved this EP when I was obsessed with ska and I loved this EP when I hated ska. It's everything music should be, progressively taking genres to places they've never been. Ska mixing with acoustic instruments with an almost orchestral sound is the way of the future.

7 Seconds The Crew5.0
This is the classic debut album from one of the greatest hardcore bands of the 80s. From start to finish, this album is filled with positive hardcore anthems that you can't help but sing along to. Each one with a great message about the scene, staying positive, keeping the youth attitude and staying drug free. This guys are legends.

Dead Kennedys Plastic Surgery Disasters5.0
The Exploited Troops of Tomorrow3.0
The second album from street punk greats, The Exploited, it is one of the landmarks of British punk. The album was unlike the catchy hits of The Damned or cleverness of the Pistols, it still held its own with its rage and energy of pure punk rock. There is also a blatent heavy metal influence in many songs, and traces to the british hardcore punk bands such as Discharge. This album laid down hardcore-punk groundwork while still keeping the street-punk energy.

Crass The Feeding of the 50000.5
This album consists of 3 things. Bad music, unintelligible lyrics, and random points of silence. The music sounds like a 4 year old got a hold of some musical equipment then ***ed around with it for about half an hour. Everybody tells me that Crass was about the lyrics, not the music. Fine, that's all good and dandy. But what purpose do lyrics serve if you need the ***ing lyric sheet to understand what they are saying. Crass should've just stuck to putting out written literature such as pamphlets and stayed away from trying to make music. They are a horribly overrated band who deserve none of the praise they get.

Dead Boys Young Loud and Snotty5.0
Cleveland early punkers who escaltaed the level of violence, nihilism, and ugliness of the punk movement to an extreame new level. The band was perfect for the budding New York CBGB scene with influences from such greats as The Stooges, Alice Cooper, the New York Dolls with Stiv being the ultimate punk frontman. Young, Loud, and Snotty wasn't just an album title it was a title for the band itself. Even after years of being around, this album still packs a punch to anyone who listens to it.

The Beatles The Beatles4.5
Finally procuring this album on vinyl and being able to place both discs on the turntable changed my entire opinion of this album. It was amazing from start to finish. Sure some songs feel like filler and some are really cheesy, but it's still really ***ing fun to listen to. Probably my 2nd favorite Beatles album right after Revolver
