Slipknot The End, So Far | 2.5 |
I can appreciate how this sounds like it is trying to ?reinvent the wheel? in terms of what a Slipknot album is typically like, but WANYK did it already and substantially better. There are great MOMENTS on this album, not songs if that makes sense. Perhaps it will grow on me but I?m underwhelmed by this one at the moment. Still love Slipknot though. |
Ozzy Osbourne Patient Number 9 | 4.0 |
This was the Ozzman?s best solo album in years! What makes it shocking is that it came out so quick after the mediocre Ordinary Man. This album honesty has not business being as good as it is considering this guy has been at it for over 50 years. Long live Ozzy Osbourne! |
Porcupine Tree Closure/Continuation | 4.0 |
One of the better reunion/reformation albums released in a long time. This album really kicks ass. I?d say I like it more than a decent amount of the prior discography. It?s doesn?t surpass their titanic albums, but Porcupine Tree still has ?it? after all of these years. That alone makes this worth a purchase. |
Ghost (SWE) Impera | 2.0 |
I?m actually shocked by this release. I have been a big fan for about 7 years now and I knew Ghost was gradually moving away from the macabre mystique of ?Opus Eponymous?, but you can still find the heart of soul of the original recordings on the acclaimed ?Meliora? and even ?Prequelle?. This on the other hand, barely sounds like it comes from the same band, and that isn?t a good thing. From being a 70?s rock mixed with occult elements band to a cheesy arena rock spectacle. There are a couple good songs, but some are downright embarrassing. I hope this is just a misstep for this band because this direction is sad for an old fan of the band. I can understand and appreciate musical evolution, but I do not have to like it, and in this case, I think this just sucks. |
