Meh, found myself skipping through every song. Nothing exciting besides production techniques. Can't understand or relate to the lyrics either. Just over indulgent self important stuff

Deerhunter Microcastle3.5
Devin Townsend Empath4.5
His best album since deconstruction, and the closest to that album in terms of the prog elements and heaviness. Near perfect return to form after a few good but somewhat boring Devin Townsend Band projects
Devin Townsend Project Deconstruction5.0
Sweet jesus fuck.Existential squandering about the universe and our purpose within it mixed with the most technical metal ever produced. Not to mention the best wall of sound production and an all star line up of guest musicians from my favorite bands.Nothing in metal could ever top this again.Fuck you if you think otherwise, you are a troll.

Kayo Dot Hubardo5.0
Kayo Dot's general reception....2003- Choirs of the Eye: HOLY CRAP 2006- Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue: Cool, needs more metal a trippy dark affair 2008- Blue Lambency Downwards: Is this frank zappa? 2009- Maudlin of the Well- Part the second: Fuckin groovy 2010- Coyote: They had a new album? 2012- Gamma Knife: Growls are back 2013- Hubardo: INSTA AOTY HOLY CRAP ITS HEAVY AND LONG AND DARK But in all seriousness, Toby is the man. I've loved all his work and this new album is an instant classic even after one listen through. Given the history of the band and a return to their heavier roots and the length and and the concept, the musicianship everything about this album is gold. Everyone needs to go back and listen to Blue Lambency, Coyote and Gamma Knife if you never did. All very amazing works which led up to this beast.

Omnium Gatherum The Burning Cold4.5
I was a huge fan of melodic death metal and just assumed most of the good albums were all in the
past, and anything since was uninspired and boring... with a few glimmers here and there

Nostalgia aside, this album stands right beside my all time favorites in the genre, Colony, Clayman,
this sounds like peak era in flames in the best way possible

Brilliant and beutiful album full of inspiration melody and emotion, the production is also top notch
Opeth Pale Communion3.0
No Sun, no moon. No earth, no heaven. No growls, no Opeth.
