This is probably Logic's most cohesive and enjoyable project to date. Too many people on here feel the need to compare everything to Kendrick without appreciating individual artistry, especially with Logic. This isn't TPaB and never will be and that is not a bad thing. There are also too many people who are way too quick to throw out 1's on here for no apparent reason.rOverall, this whole album is strong and the message it has generally hits the mark. However, the whole "I'm black but I'm white but I'm black" theme can grow tiring and I wish Logic would stray from it a little more. Some of the skits also fall a little short, but they're nothing worse than what is present on any of his earlier efforts. The only track I have any reservations about would have to be 1-800. Can't decide if it's enjoyable or insipid attempt to cater to a crowd outside of Logic's norm. |

Easily the most over-rated album, probably ever. It's not bad at all, but far too
over-rated. There's alot of talent here. Alot of great riffs & solos. But, the riffs get
slightly repetitive & James' vocals are annoying. Lars does a good job with his drumming,
but being born into a generation where it's nothing I haven't heard I guess I can't
understand it's amazing mark on music history. Still, songs like Welcome Home
(Sanitarium) & most of Master of Puppets are quality tracks. Battery has probably the
greatest intro I have ever heard, but the rough transition to heavy metal & James' vocals
ruin the potential it had. Still, though, I wasn't born in Metallica's generation & all
the rip-offs I've heard have made this album a little boring. There's some great stuff
though, so I recommend it to anybody who likes good ol' heavy metal. |

Death Magnetic is the first Metallica album I ever listened to in full. Ya, I heard tracks like "One","Enter Sandman", "Fuel", & "Master of Puppets" from around, but this is the first album I listened to by the biggest metal name in the world. And since then I have gone back & listen to the critically acclaimed & fan-loved Master of Puppets & honestly, I can say with every bit of sanity in me that this is better. The riffs aren't repetitive & while the riffs overall have the same basic sound, each track has something added to it to make stand out. Drumming's good of course & their new bassist does a good job. I think James' vocals are actually very good here. Unlike on MoP, they are not harsh & annoying. There's even a small southern sound to his voice on the softer parts that sounds great. The lyrics & production could be better, but they're still a big step up from the old stuff. I'm not really in the mood to right an in-depth review, so I will end by saying Unforgiven III is probably the best on here. |

I contemplated this for a long time before deciding to rate it a 5, but I believe that it's entirely deserving of it. Ray delves into musical territory far deeper than anything he's done thus far. The album is consistent and I enjoy how the two parts contrast each other while still working together to create a cohesive whole. I will say that this is not an album that you just turn on, however, but one that you allow yourself to become immersed in. Also, I saw him perform the entire record live on his Ouroboros tour and it was possibly the closest thing to a religious experience that I've ever had. |

So nobody expected this: an album by a slightly above average post-hardcore band that automatically sent them to the top of their genre. On TOCS , Aaron wrote about 90% of the lyrics and sang about about 50% of the vocals, I guess they decided Spencer needed more recognition since he was the lead vocalist; so they let him write about 80% of the lyrics and do about 75% of the vocals. That is probably the single most important thing Underoath has ever done. With Spencer playing a bigger role, the band was sure to change directions and they did. Spencer has gone through far many problems than Aaron has (abuse, substance abuse, etc.) and that clearly show in the music. So I'm guessing that with the more mature lyrics and vocals, the instrumentation needed change too. And that one little change made Underoath one of the most recognizable & respected names in harder music. Define The Great Line is an emotional, complex, melodic, yet brutal masterpiece. |

Lost In The Sound Of Separation is a painting. As the album progresses, you have a mental
picture of exactly what is happening. The lyrics portray a man who is completely lost,
everything he believes is a lie. His inner conscience and the world are eating him up.
The lyrics portray a man who is completely lost, but finds hope in something spiritual.
On "Desolate Earth :: The End Is Here", his pains and trials finally are over as he
screams "You said there was nothing left down here. Well I roamed around the wasteland.
And I swear I found something. I found hope, I found God. I found the dreams of the
believers. Oh, God! Save us all!". As the album goes on, the album becomes softer and
more ambient, portraying the picture of this man's life becoming easier. The guitars,
drums, keyboard, and bass fill the atmosphere, bringing color to the sketch the lyrics
brought. They don't settle for completely generic riffs and song structures, but instead
make something unique. And finally, the vocals bring so much emotion, they shade in and
give depth to the painting. The masterpiece which is Lost In The Of Separation.
