Audioslave Revelations3.0
Audioslave moved on in the minds of many fans with Out Of Exile in 2005. Their sound came together, the band found a sound all their own, and found themself selling loads of records and gaining some critical success. To say the band has stepped back a few steps with the release of Revelations is letting them off lightly. The album, at first listen seems to carry the same depth as Out Of Exile, however when you dig in a bit you discover very little there. The songs get old, very quicky, and drag on with the same riffs and verses done in the past. These riffs are nice, but feel empty at this point. The vocals are very Cornell, but the man seems very uninspired and bored at various points on the album. Is the album bad? Of course not, this is a solid piece of work, we just have heard it done before, and done much better. Is it worth your hard earned dollars and very previous time? No/Very little, when you can get Out Of Exile and enjoy it much more. A true disappointment for any fan out there.

Beck, everyone's favorite loser, has returned with the release of The Information. Easily his best work since 2002's Sea Change, Beck takes us back to the famed Odelay! Days. Oh yes, the feel good songs featuring the white boy rapping, giving us more great lines and even better overall songs. Nausea may be the pop single of the year, and really puts an exclamation mark on Becks return, a real stand out on a already solid album. This album is a must for any long time Beck fan, and even music fans looking to find out more about the talented singer.

Elliott Smith From a Basement on the Hill4.5
Elliott Smith is one of the most beloved and respected singer/ songwriters of this generation, and after listening to past work, anyone can see why. Poetic lyrics over beautiful vocals make for a great listening experience. Sadly, Smith took his own life before even this album was released, but his work lives on. With the release of From A Basement On The Hill, Smith’s body of work has proven, even in death, he can move people. Another great album lyrically, good guitar work and keys at times. Not his best album bu any stretch of the imagination, but solid nonetheless. Recommend this to anyone that likes music, that simple.
Elliott Smith Roman Candle4.5
Elliott Smith Either/Or5.0
Elliott Smith put together a collection of albums on par with anyone in the alternative scene in the last two or so decades. Easily one of the most important artists of this generation, and a perfect example of this is the nearly perfect LP Either/Or. Released in 1997, the album gained large critical success, as well it should have. Without a single bad song, Smith took his career to the next level with such songs as 2:45 AM and Say Yes. Intelligent lyrics over his beautiful voice make for a modern masterpiece that will be enjoyed for years to come.

I Mother Earth The Quicksilver Meat Dream1.0
I Mother Earth in the 90's used inventive musicianship over decent vocals to create a sound of their own. Even a line up change at vocals did not slow them down. However, with the release of this album, they fell apart rather quicky after. The effort had a good single, but failed to match on the rest of the album. The sound, is awkward to say the least and lyrics do not help much. Easily the worst album I have ever bought, and I have bought a few stinkers in my life, the album is worthless, and should be forgotten.

Led Zeppelin hit their peak with their third studio release. The band focused more on folk aspects, rather then the blues sound they became known for. The album is filled with classics, which Im sure every fan knows. Songs like Gallows Pole, Out On The Tiles Bron-Y-Aur Stom, and of course the almighty Immigrant Song make for a turly classic piece of work.
Limp Bizkit Results May Vary1.0
Limp Bizkit capitalized on the backs of fourteen year olds for many years before hitting a downward spiral with the death of most nu-metal in the first few years of the new decade. In 2003, they tried to gain some respectably back with the release of Results May Vary. The album holds many of the traits their old work had, however with the public more then moved on to other artists, the album fell flat. The album features the same old poor rapping skills Durst became infamous for over the years. The lyrics are simply awful, and even the musicianship that saved their past work from being worthless failed to hit it standards on this album. Mainly due to the fact that Wes left, and the hate from the rest of the band towards Durst and his antics almost smacks the listener in the face in interviews and on the album. The album seems very mailed in, avoid at all costs.

Papa Roach, the emo-posers they are now, are much better then what they used to be. Which of course was metal-posers. The album is very good if you are twelve years of age and the year is 2000, but if you do not fit this deception, you should avoid this album at all costs. The album is filled with cheesy lyrics and played out guitar riffs, what else is there to make you want to run the other way at first listen.

Puddle Of Mudd did ride Fred Durst, and nu-metal in general to produce a good album in Come Clean. However their second release was filled with over produced radio rock that failed to add anything new to rock, or music for that matter. The album uses the same old same old in terms of riffs and lyrics, and just becomes very boring, very quickly.

The Mars Volta has already put together a classic catalog of albums in their very young career. With the release of Amputechure, they have added another solid piece of work. Omar gave up some of the guitar duties to John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chile Peppers, and a seasoned veteran of the music game comes through for The Mars Volta in a big way. The guitar solos may be stronger here then ever before, and the dueling between Omar and Cedric at the instrument is again spot on. The horn use on this album is easily and unquestionablely their best work yet. Finally the trumpets are allowed to come in to their own, and really add to the overall feel of the album. Keys, percussion, and the preciously mentioned horns add even more of a Latin feel then in past work, and even Omar?s guitar work seems more Latin inspired then ever before. The vocals are very Mars Volta, with Cedric?s amazing vocal range spewing out more classic lines that fans have came to expect and enjoy. The time signatures are more comparable to that of their debut album De-Loused In The Comatorium, but song structure (although shorter) are much more like their follow up, Frances The Mute. Instant fan favorites such as Vermicide and Tetragrammaton are going to be enjoyed for years to come. Not their best work, but very close, highly recommend this album to any music fan.

The Used came out of the gate with a decent start, however decent is not a work I can associate with this poor effort. The album, with very little lyrical content of any substance, fails to hit what The Used gained popularity for. Which were aggressive musicianship over the singers vocal range, however this album just becomes a copy of what they use to be. Not looking forward to their next work, and I’m not sure why anyone would be.

The White Stripes perfected the imperfection of garage rock with their greatest release, Elephant. Jack White brought some of his best lyrics and guitar work over a grand production job. The album has many fan favorites, and of course the infamous Seven Nation Army, which many fans have grown to hate for how large it made the band. Never the less, you would have a hard time finding a single bad track on the album, and really should be in any music collection.
