DragonForce Inhuman Rampage3.5
DragonForce, known for their cheesy lyrics, lightning-fast guitar solos, mindblowing keyboard solos, and heart pounding drum beats. They prove they're the best at what they do, in only 8 songs. Just one downside, half of these songs sound about the same. Don't get me wrong, Inhuman Rampage is a great album, full of ZP's great lyrics, Sam and Herman's amazing dual-solos, Dave's speedy drumming, Vadim's beautiful keyboarding (shown in 'Trail of Broken Hearts', and even Frederic shows some bass talents in 'Body Breakdown'. If you think this is one of those albums that you will be hooked on from the beginning, you may be wrong. This could turn out to be one of those albums that takes awhile for you to get hooked on, but will hold its place in your heart for a long time.

Elvenking The Scythe4.5
Frankly, I just can't find the right words to express my love for this album. It's got everything that a catchy lyric-crazed power metal listener could want, and more. A very radio-friendly metal album to say the least, but that doesn't make this any less enjoyable. Everything is done well, and while no instrument sticks out in particular, they all fit together in such a way that the final product is amazing.

All that being said, I can completely understand why one would dislike this album. For one, it's a bit too radio-friendly, to the point where the catchiness and sheer lack of originality and technicality could possibly be its downfall. This is most likely not for br00tal metal fans, and from what I've heard from others, this is a bit of a change from past Elvenking releases.

Bottom line, this is an overall great album that is at least worth looking into for any (lighter) metal fans.

DragonForce, eat your hearts out.
These guys truly know how to rock the synths, incorporating a special sound module called the Sid Station. The Sid Station is based off of the SID synthesizer chip used in the Commodore 64 computer. What all this means is that Machinae Supremacy can provide the videogame-ish sound that DragonForce themselves have become known for.
MaSu's talent, however, does not end there. Robert Stjarnstrom has a unique voice (at least to me), that is different from the high-pitched power metal vocalists that I've heard in DragonForce and Dream Evil. Quite possibly my favorite member of the band, Jonas Rorling the lead guitarist, shows he can write amazing riffs and solos on tracks like 'Insidious' and 'Player One', sometimes rivaling the speed and sound of Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce. Andreas, Johan, and Tomas, on keyboards, bass, and drums, respectively, while are talented, do not showcase their skills much in this album.
Overall, this is an essential power metal album for those who like the genre.
Recommended Tracks: Insidious, Dreadnaught, Flagcarrier, Player One, Deus Ex Machinae... Never mind, just get the entire album.
NOTE: There being only 2,000 copies of this album made, there isn't much of a chance you'll find this in stores, but you can download the first 14 songs off of MaSu's Last.FM page, and the 15th song off of their official website, www.machinaesupremacy.com

This was probably the first Christmas album I've ever listened to. Now I'm not a fan of jazz at all, but Nat King Cole's singing is great. He makes the songs calm and serene, which adds to the overall effect of the relaxing songs. The orchestras and chorus in the background provide an unneeded assist to Nat's singing. In the album, he covers many Christmas songs that are popular around the world. A must have for anyone who loves jazz, or just listening to Christmas songs during the holidays.

Beautiful album, although highly deceiving to those who first heard about this album through the single 'Image of the Invisible'. The first song starts out leading you to believe the majority of the album is purely hardcore, when in truth, it is more of a calm-verse and slightly hardcore-chorus type album. I'd recommend 'The Earth Will Shake', 'Music Box', and 'Red Sky' as they are a few of my personal favorites. Awesome album, well worth the $10-15 if you're into the slower stuff.
