South Africa, my homeland, has a couple of exports that I believe are of note. Though Dave Matthews is an American fellow, he was born in SA. Trevor Rabin played in Yes from 1983 to 1994, across four of their albums, and went on to compose for film and build a healthy solo career. Bands like Kongos and Seether have done extremely well in mainstream rock, occupying the airwaves ad nauseam with tracks like "Come With Me Now" and "Remedy" respectively. We've had a good track record... well, at least, 'til these withering numb fucks spasmed on to the scene like two jack russels suffering from acute Parkinsons'. Appalling. |

Foxing The Albatross | 3.5 |
While Foxing does venture into the overly dramatic territory of other emo/indie bands, they do it in a way that is honest, tasteful and commendably theirs. The songs feel confessional in nature and they are delivered in a powerful manner. But the downfall of The Albatross lies in the fact that there is not much beyond the emotive bones of the album; it feels incomplete, somehow. 3.7/5 |

Jeff Rosenstock WORRY. | 4.5 |
What do you get when you take Jeff Rosenstock and lock him up in a room with Beach Boys albums and a pervasive feeling of maturity and growth (that actively flirts and plays with the adolescent nature of ska- and pop-punk)? You get WORRY. I love this album. |
