The first four songs are great, but then comes the pretty useless 25-minute instrumental rcollection of a few notes, and Decrepitude II which has no significant different to the I, ronly that's a bit less interesting.rAside of those, this is excellent.
Simply put, Filosofem is an ambient black metal masterpiece. Heavily distorted guitars and vocals, with an interesting use of the vibes on the keyboard to add to the atmospheric effect. Slowly pulsing at the seams, while at times speeding tremolo picking rages on (mostly "Jesus Dod".) There are boring moments (mostly like the entireity of the 25 minutes of the fifth track), but most of the album is just excellent music.
