A consistent tone and subtle intros feel vibrant to those who have grown to love this band from the very start of their career. You can't sit through this album once; you need to let it grab your attention through every listen. This also goes for the lead single "Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)": a haunting nod to the infamous folklore tale. It's still the same band, with teenage angst built up from the skin. But now they refine and grow with their sound, into more shoe gaze territory. If your not a fan of songs that have lengthy, instrumental segments, you're probably not going to enjoy this album. To me, this album defines what Silversun Pickups have been building up so far in their careers. It's only time until we hear something out of this world in the next couple of years.

Great album, Interesting stuff. Much better than their previous work, sounds good enough to fit in modern music but it has a slight touch of their classic sound. r

Neck of The Woods is all I could ask from a band that continues to rule for what they are.

While finding both the band's previous releases pretty striking in sound, Neck of the Woods almost feels like a step back from previous awesomeness. While possibly a slightly deeper outing then its predecessors (though that may be a tough task to accomplish) the overall impact after four or five listens comes off a little disappointing considering how much hope I had for this album. Hopefully the depth of the record will translate into a grower after giving it a little time to sink in.

I've become obsessed with this band over the last 4-5 months, their music is enjoyable, and has some bite to it. However, the newest album is too tame, there's no passion. I can forgive that there aren't as many loud moments as Swoon, but most of these songs have no recognizable tune, and overall, this album if forgettable. It's not bad, but it's not up to normal Silversun standards.

It's a great album. That's all there is to it. Fans should definitely like it. It didn't branch out far from what they have been doing, and it's very entertaining. Some of the riffs feel very similar to not only what is on this record but their previous ones as well, but it's nothing to fret over.
