While quite a bit of their back-discography is bogged down by bland, aimless aggression, Monolith of Inhumanity sees CD spreading out their influences, and trying out more unusual concepts (at least for them). The clean vocals are extremely well done, and the songs play out in interesting ways most of the time. A surprising release, to be sure, and a contender for best death metal release thus far this year.

This album is just amazing. It is Cattle Decapitation taken to the next level. It has elements from all of their previous work, but formed into a more focused and sharpened attack.

I love the experimentation and the increased melody, but this isn't sitting as well with me
as it is for everyone else. It blurred together a bit toward the middle and never quite made
it back, but maybe a few more listens will fix that and boost my rating.

Songs like "A Living, Breathing Piece Of Defecating Meat", "Forced Gender Reassignment", "Gristle Licker", "Lifestalker", "Your Disposal" or "Kingdom Of Tyrants" help to make Monolith of Inhumanity one of the most interesting albums of the year so far.
