Hands down, this is one of the most embarrassing pieces of music ever recorded in history. If I personally had any part to do with the writing, recording, production, mastering, manufacturing or subsequent commercial release of this album, I would kill myself. No two ways about it.
This album intersted me enough to buy it and after liking the Eurovision entry I was further intrigued. But its dull repetative and few well written songs. A let down in my opinion. Other than the catchy single thats all thats here to offer.
Very well done metal album; nice break from all the death metal - lol. Songs are well written, quality is good, and vocals aren't the typical annoying "metal" vocals. Sound mastering is well balanced.
The riffs aren't bad, neither is the orchestration. Unfortunately, they aren't anything special either. The solos and vocals are pretty good. However, the basic pop song structure in the majority of these tracks just makes the verses a pain to sit through. If the album had more than just solos and hooks, I'd probably give it a 4.
This is one of my all time favourite bands. IMO a must listen for every music listener wanting to find something fun to listen to rather than the usual hard rock/metal.
I like it, due to the different tempos to suit my different moods, from the slow "It slows in Hell" to the much faster "Who's your daddy". I also like it because of the mixture of clean and "Mr Lordi" styles of singing together, forming clean lyrics with a bit of a bite. However, some of the songs are far too similar for my liking, and "Hard Rock Hallelujah" left me rattling my cage after listening to it a couple of times due to its mind numbing repetition of rhythm and lyric.
