This is the best release of Dragonforce's career. Marc Hudson is incredibly talented and is three times the vocalist ZP was. The band has finally learned how to write songs in a concise manner while still keeping them intense. Vadim has more of a presence, and has traded most of his cheesy synth sounds for big orchestral patches. There are only three songs here above the five minute mark. And not every song is a 250 bpm face ripper. In fact, half of the album is mid tempo anthems. They venture into pirate metal in the song "Cry Thunder", and into folky viking metal on "Die By The Sword." Yes, the "throw-darts-at-a-wall-of-power-metal-buzzwords" lyricism is there still. Herman and Sam continue to trade blistering solos, and their bass player (whoever he is) remains mostly hidden. But this is the best I've heard from Dragonforce. I am pleasantly surprised.

New singer brings shorter songs, more variety of riffs, lack of Mach 5 guitar solos for 70 minutes, and a return to the band's roots combining the best of Valley of the Damned and Sonic Firestorm. This is easily the best power metal album in the past two years and that is something I did not think I would say about the band at this point in time.

This isn't very good at all. Its basically old Dragonforce but with a md-range singer and more digestible, shorter songs. However, the song writing is the typical DF formula without much variation in tempo or riffs and Hudson is bland on vocals. The epic, cheesy bombast this record has does make it fun to listen to, if only for a few tracks

With their new vocalist, Marc Hudson (a much better vocalist than ZP Theart as well), DragonForce sound revitalized. Shorter song lengths stop the songs from outstaying their welcome, and they finally sound focused. DragonForce have written the album of their career, and hopefully, with Marc Hudson, will be able to rise above from their current reputation. I recommend this to any fan of Power Metal. If you loved DragonForce before, you still will. If you hated them, give it a try, you might just change your mind.

This is solid album, but nothing special. I don't care for their new singer as much though, he doesn't seem to have the range that their previous one did. The album seems to gear more towards the style of their first two albums more, which is a welcome change from the awful ultra beatdown style.

I wouldn't be too harsh about this before it is released, Marc sounds like a competent singer, and he is way better than ZP live. If Cry Thunder is anything to show, they will hopefully be looking back to their Valley of The Damned roots, which could be good news.
