YEAH a new van halen record great review like it said though a bit patchy a little too long and one or two weak tracks but its a new van halen record

I'll be honest i don't like david lee roth, i'm a more van hagar fan. but usually i don't compare between albums or vocals thats one of the rare times that i compare simply because i feel that with sammy the band went to the 2nd level. Now as for this album, it isn't bad, actually with the meh stuff that the music industry offers to us this album is a masterpiece compared to the meh surrounding us especially when 4 most people Jonas brothers r rock or this decade's beatles -__- its a good come back 4 the band, corny?? yup, fun??? yup, rock n roll like an idiot?? oh hell yeah :D

Revisiting the past proved to be a smart move. A Different Kind of Truth is indeed a very enjoyable album with great moments like "She's the Woman", "You and Your Blues", "China Town", "As Is" or "Honeybabysweetiedoll".

The Once Glorious band, Van Halen have released a new album. A Different Kind of Truth steers itself into what seems like a decent album with songs like "She's The Woman", "Outta Space" and "Stay Frosty". As for the single; "Tatoo" I find that and "As Is" too gimmicky and sounding too much like their old hits however it's still a good listen though

This was supposed to be total shit. Tattoo was harmless radio rock, Van Halen III was a disaster, Michael Anthony left the band - long story short, these guys were about 20 years too late on their breakup. But it isn't. Eddie and Alex are every bit as good as ever, David still sounds great and Wolfgang proves his worth on bass. Some songs rank among the heaviest stuff they've ever released, and feel mature without being forced or losing that VH personality. Overall, my favorite Van Halen release since 1984.

China Town is a rippin number for sure, there's plenty of other tracks to be proud of here. I actually cant believe this album is so consistant. Eddie sounds in fine form and Alex freakin destroys the kit on most of these songs. As for Diamond Dave, he still has that signature howl intact for sure. Anyone who is curious about this album should at least give it one whirl!

Holy shit this album destroys. Makes every modern rock band look like toothless fairies in any serious comparison, and these guys (well, 75% of them) are twice their age. It hardly matters that most of these songs were conceptualized throughout the band's career - what band doesn't do this? - this is vital, hard-hitting, dirty rock and roll performed by veterans in dying need of a rebirth, and on that level it not only succeeds, it writes the fucking blueprint for how a veteran rock band considered all but dead for the last, oh, 30 years should conduct their affairs. If this doesn't give modern rock the giant left hook to the face it needs, we're all doomed.
