I don't get the claims that this is 'more melodic' or 'softer' for Converge. People need to get over the fact that this isn't Jane Doe. You Fail Me has one of the best atmospheres I've ever heard; it's dark and gloomy as hell, the production is crushing and sludgy, and Bannon's distorted vocals sound fucking great. It's underappreciated. Whatever.

Definately an underrated Converge album. It's the Ying to Jane Doe's Yang. Both albums are extremely angry, yet while Jane Doe is the passionate, aggressive anger, You Fail Me is the lingering, subdued anger, a bitterness that when combined with the raw, unbridled anger of Jane Doe brings Converge's discography full circle.

An all-around aggressive and entertaining album as well as a necessary step in solidifying their post-Jane Doe sound, but in the end it just doesn't come off as wholly copacetic or satisfying as both their earlier (post-Halo in a Haystack) or more recent albums. 3.3/5

You Fail Me has a vastly different feel than Jane Doe, but it is still hands down one of the best hardcore records i've ever heard. Bannon's raw screams and the flawless and unrelenting wall of drums and riffs. The production on this album is some of the best ive ever heard, making this insanely good record that much better

While most will single out "Jane Doe" as Converge's finest hour, I find a deeper connection with their following album "You Fail Me." While the songs aren't as blisteringly fast as they are on "Jane Doe", the lessening in speed allows for more variety in the songs; personal favorites including the amazing dirge of the title track, the cathartic Last Light, the epic outro of Drop Out, and the manic explosion that is Eagles Become Vultures. To top it off, it actually sounds like J. Bannon is enunciating some words!

Very dark, moody. Simple. Its good. Alot of the album was a hit and miss for me. Loved some tracks hated others. Oh well. Not Jane Doe or When Forever Comes Crashing but a worthy piece in Converges catalogue.
