Under the pseudonym of Lana Del Rey, 25 year-old Elizabeth Grant makes quite an impact on her self-titled EP. Released 3 weeks before her heavily hyped 'Born To Die' LP, this 18 minute sneak-peek arguably contains the best 4 tracks from that album in a more appropriate order. Owning an alluring lower register, the singer-songwriter somehow manages to find a middle ground between modern & retro, as well as being both accessible & unique. Samples add a hip-hop flavor, while string arrangements give off a baroque vibe... It all results in a captivating appetizer to what will surely be a fruitful career.
