This is everything I was hoping it wouldn't be. The riffs are repetitive, the vocal approach doesn't change or vary between songs, the drumming is great as it always is and the bass doesn't stand out. This sounds like an (Ob)Servant B-side, and I'll be damned because I loved the first four albums and this is disappointing. Listen to the stream before you get it. Maybe I'll warm up to this, but so far it's nothing special.

mr. haley really shines on this album. however i feel like there was way too much of a focus on him shredding. i mean, no complaints with the riffs- some of 'em are the best i've heard in death metal (at least, some of the most original)! but yeah, kinda boring... and yes... the vocals kinda suck.

I don't care for the vocals but otherwise this is a reasonably strong record

I would love to enjoy this album, but the vocals are horrible. I thought they sucked on (Ob)Servant, but this time it's monotonous which makes it more tedious than any other album with this vocalist. The music itself is the only reason I'm giving this a three.

... And it's basically exactly the same. Psycroptic have released three albums in a row which each attempt to be the exact same thing. This isn't a bad thing, though it's not great, but it's been overdone, and not just by this band. What happened to fast, spastic riffs? What happened to climactic songwriting? Hasn't been seen since Scepter of the Ancients. Psycroptic continue to deteriorate simply by doing... nothing.

Joe Haley is one of the most interesting rhythm guitarists around. Excellent album.

As much as I wanted to like this I'm a bit disappointed, riffs hard in some places but everything else is a tad bit weak.

I feel it had all (or at least most) of the technical skill from Ob(servant) but with more a focus on the song writing. there is a definitely groove on the album, which makes it more memorable. Also, I feel there is a nice variation in the vocals, offering something a little different than some of their peers. This is definitely their most dynamic album to date, and I can understand where some people are a little turned off, but this was a welcome change of pace from the standard tech-death of late.
