You want an hour of the most heartfelt lyrics with the most perfect delivery and music to rcompliment it? Go buy The Current Will Carry Us by Counterparts. The passion they put behind rtheir music is so unreal to me. Reflection is my favorite song of 2011, and this album will rprobably end up being my AOTY. If you like this band, listen to this album. It gets better rwith every listen, and you won't be disappointed. And yes, I am completely aware that I rrated this a 5. r@Durzzo COOL man, it's awesome that you value your opinion so much that you think that we rall give a shit about your "top 5 list"

Counterparts have gone from playing metalcore to playing fast, noisy, and technical melodic hardcore, and its all for the better as their newest release shines even brighter than their debut.

Terrific follow up to one of the best metalcore albums from last year. While a change in rstyle is definitely evident, it also shows that Counterparts are able to deliver far more rthan expected of a band made up of such young members.

This album is very good. I love the combination of hardcore and melodic metal with a tinge of punk influence. There is also a nice technicality to the album. The band weaves sporadic breakdowns that are short and sweet. The breakdowns themselves are technical mixed with a melodic feel and it just plain works. The vocals are very good aswell. Sometimes with screamers I find myself cringing, but that never happens in this album. His voice is filled with emotion and he can also convey a pretty good range. Will be enjoying this album for a very long time. I think track 10 and 11 should switch. I think the ending to "Sinking" would be perfect ending to the album. Favorite tracks: Sinking, The Constant, The Disconnect, Jumping Ship

I'm not sure what isn't to love about this band, everything seems to have improved from Prophets, which in and of itself was a fantastic record, but the uber-melodic nature of this album won me over almost instantly.

Nothing will ever make me not love this band. I still put Prophets slightly above this, but in time i'm sure i'll feel the same way about both albums. If you don't buy this album and support this band, then the hardcore scene is fucked.
