God awful mix of electronica & metalcore, when will this trendy bullshit stop? It's merely
an excuse just to not excel instrumentally or lyrically. When you think of a band you
should think "Yeah they're those guys with the really good solos like on this song" or "Dude
they're this band that knows how to sell a show, they get the crowd moving and the band is
so involved with the crowd" etc. Not, "The Browning? Aren't they that band that puts
electronic bass-drops over more bass-drops?" Pathetic sophomore album from these guys.
Earache and other popular metal labels need to stop signing this shit.

The Browning brings in a brand new inovation to the hardcore scene by combining dubstep and deathcore together. Now you might think this would sound awful considering that dubstep wouldnt really have the things needed to be fused with deathcore but surprisingly the vocalist/electronics developers, Jonny, makes good use of this. If your bored with the hardcore/deathcore scene and are in search of something new this band might rekindle your spirits.

i dont understand how a band could decide to call themselves "the browning" and use that name for 2 years. anyways, band blows hard.

There is so little substance outside of synth beats on this album that it's hard to stomache. The vocals are AWFUL, the drumming and guitars are blended together in production for the sole purpose of performing 1st and 2nd fret palm mute chugs, and the lyrics... oh god the lyrics....rStanding on the edge is pretty cool for the first 20 seconds though.

Download: "Burn This World" for a cool orchestral breakdown & hip-hop beat and "I Choose You" for some cool video-game synths, but otherwise ignore the childish lyrics and crappy production.

Take away the synths and what do you get? Nothing but some of the most generic metal you will ever hear. I guess they figured what they lacked in musical and lyrical substance could be compensated for with overused synths and breakdowns. Trying to fuse different genres together and then falling flat on your face is not inginuity, it's idiocracy. The scene kids will go crazy over this shit though. They'll listen to it since nobody else does because it's "too hardcore". Wrong! No one listens to it because it's just garbage that record companies put out because they know the scene kids will love it. The only song worth anything is "Bloodlust". It can be quite catchy at times when the synths aren't overused and would be better if it was about half as long as it is to avoid repetivtiveness. The vocals overall aren't that bad either, but the terrrible lyrics, boring instrumentation, overused breakdowns, and overused synths completely ruin everything. I guess their name The Browning is appropriate since what we have here is nothing but a pile of shit.

the redeeming factor for these guys is that their electronic elements are darker than attack attack and the like, so it meshes better with the deathcore sound
