A twisted, unconventional ride through hip-hop's most conventional themes, Danny Brown
brings us through his sick demeanor, one that is at times quite self-destruction. Vulgar and
shocking at it's best, this is an album that might not sit well on first listen, not least
of all caused by Danny Brown's almost nasally, high-pitched flow. It might take awhile to
get used to it, but coming back only rewards one with a brutish trip into one of the most
well-crafted hip-hop albums of the year. While the basic themes this album puts out have
been done countless times, Danny boy gives it such a unique take almost built on self-
parody, that this trip into his psyche; one fueled on an excess of sex, drugs, and violence,
feels shockingly fresh.

Danny Brown seriously has balls the size of bean bags. This album is (in my opinion) one of the strongest rap albums of 2011. It can't hurt if it's free either.

Mr. Brown's tales of sex, drugs, and violence are pushed to such an extreme it eventually becomes parodic. And what makes XXX truly thrilling is how the whole thing plays out as Danny's downward spiral into insanity, depression, and it's astonishing ending makes XXX and exhilarating ride.

Alternately over-the-top, terrifying, unhinged, disgusting, and exhilarating, sometimes all five at once, with appropriately oppressive production and even a story of sorts. A couple duds or painful tracks can't keep it from being an overwhelming success.

This is a grower if I've ever heard one. Experimental hip-hop with fantastic beats and two personas throughout the album. There are some songs where it gets to be too much, like, "I Will". It has a great songs but you can only talk about eating girls out for so long before you feel like puking. Overall an amazing album with an insane theme that's hard to really piece together until you listen to the whole album and see the big picture. Very inaccessible, very worth it.
