Now that I listen to this, it's disappointing for Weezy but giving this a 1 just because it's Lil Wayne and you haven't actually heard the album is dumb.

An album needs to do more than entertain. It also needs to have some kind of substance. Perhaps some intelligence, cleverness or direction. How anyone can be entertained by the emptiness in Wayne's music is beyond me.

I really gave this a try, dedicated time and computer space on a man I've always wanted to just avoid. Me being faithful though, I put all judgment aside and hit that play button, putting up with it through two full listens. I remember hearing about the release delays this album went through because of the beats he was receiving, that they just weren't up to the level he figured they should be at. He was right, big into the noises of hip-hop more than the lyrics, some of the beats here are downright lazy and unattractive. The only song through this whole album that feels right is 'How to Love', a surprisingly great little gem the album seems to hide towards the end. This isn't anything towards Lil Wayne or rap as a genre, it was just tough finding anyway to enjoy this.

For someone who is an actual Wayne fan, this album is an atrocity. All of the trying and the effort in his music has left a while ago. and now its mundane punchlines that go nowhere, beats that go nowhere, and songs that, you guessed it, go nowhere. What a bad album, from a guy who, back in the day, put out some great material (even classic I'd argue, if you go to the first two Dedication mixtapes and Da Drought up to 3.)

Has a few songs that I really liked. The rest was so-so nothing was terrible though especially after hearing rebirth. Definitely an improvement over that atrocity.

This album entertains. It's not filled with tons of thought, but that's not expected from a Weezy album (though some songs are less mainstream lyrically). 'Interlude', though Wayne isn't even in it, is my favorite song. Tech N9ne does well, but Andr?00 tears it up.
