Everyone hates this band, honestly. But some of the hate isn't deserved, because Design The
Skyline HAS improved marginally. Everything up until Cybernetic Strawflower pretty much
blows. Strawflower contains a great solo, and the vocals actually fit. So that was a nice
surprise.rThe standout tracks were definitely Reverie and Neveah. Why? Because they were
instrumental. The vocalists are terrible and they either need to be fired or trained
thoroughly before they drag down an actually good team of musician.rThat's just my honest
review of things.

This album exceeded my expections. I was expecting an album that would join the horrid ranks of albums by "bands" like Brokencyde, Blood On The Dance Floor, etc. Granted, it's not an amazing album by any means, but I can see this becoming a guilty pleasure of mine. These guys have definitely improved since Surrounded By Silence.

When I think of this band I honestly think of cars. Not the Nissan Skyline, like many people jokingly think in the Internet, but I think of 1959. More precisely of the Cadillac series 62. Like the 62, Neveah is indeed the threshold of excess in its field - the band's excessively scene image, the ridiculously childish lyrics, the horrible vocals, the underaverage riffing (if such a term can be applied), the awful use of samples. They may be as well one of the worst bands in the modern scene, and we all know that 2011 has put out a lot of stinking garbage. In all honesty, I do not even believe that Victory is gonna have them signed for much time. However, unlike the 62, which is nowadays considered a classic (and, let's face it, it's a pretty cool car), I do not believe that such an insipid record may be worshipped in the future. It represents the threshold of bad taste. Now I quietly await for the album that makes me think of the early Shelby Cobra as the dawn of a golden era.

Thank You Internet, for this dose of cringe. What would we do without music like this ?, sometimes you just need to find something really bad and laugh. ,,Nevaeh'' made my day. But now honestly, am I the only one who finds it extremely funny that this band is meme, but band like ,,Asking Alexandria'' is actually popular, I could easily call this band technically more proficient and actually somewhat tolerable when their not: Singing, Doing extremely goofy shit with vocals, Saying any lyrics, Playing instruments like retarded fish on the land, and playing stupid edm that doesn't really complement anything

Nevaeh, which is ironically the word 'heaven' spelled backwards, is the debut album by Corpus Christi deathcore act Design the Skyline. The record's material is akin to a Westboro Baptist Church member settling a petty argument with a disconfigured keyboard and two cadavers; yeah, make of this what you will. That's all I honestly have to say in this worthless soundoff which apparently showed more potential than this seven-piece band.

I hope most of these ratings are hate ratings, because I thoroughly enjoyed some aspects of this album. Album has delightful riffage and drumming, I really enjoyed the soft melody choruses except the clean vocals are terrible. Of course this album has some intolerable tracks, I also thought their whole image was misleading, most of the record is experimental death-metal.

You guys need to listen to Reverie and Nevaeh. They're actually pretty decent. If this band were to completely drop their "vocalists" and create purely instrumental music I think they have a shot at being acceptable.

Wow. This is just like every other scene band but with no individual identity. This band is more of a deathcore with a bad taste of post-hardcore choruses. Pretty forgettable. I would just stick to BMTH or Asking Alexandria. Even Attack Attack! sounds better than this.

Complete with auto-tuned cleans, dual screaming vocalists that sound so grating to ones ears that they distract from the already questionable musicianship, Design the Skyline still has a lot of work to do, however their instrumentals show that they have possible potential in other genres.

Everything wrong with deathcore now with hideous autotuned vocals and overwhelming synth. It's definitely not as bad as you may think, nor is it as bad as their demo.They've learnt that song structure is in fact essential, and you can see some shape starting to form. Lead single 'Break Free From Your Life' has the most basic song structure, resulting in their best, or most tolerable track from the album. There are a few other moments scattered throughout which shine in comparison (the intro of 'Witch of The Woods' as well as the instrumental of 'Reverie') but fall flat overall.

Most infamous for their signing with Victory Records & subsequent horrendous demo 'Surrounded By Silence', young Texan deathcore outfit Design The Skyline don't exactly significantly improve on debut LP 'Nevaeh'. While there are some musically interesting moments scattered here & there, the songwriting is extremely haphazard & all worthwhile ideas are used up come the end of track 6 (the decent instrumental 'Reverie'). More strikingly, the three-way vocal attack is atrocious, with even the rare clean vocals failing to add much melody. And just to think: It took 7 of them to make this album! Recommended Tracks: Break Free From Your Life & Reverie.

I'll give them credit for trying. I don't know/care what they look like, but I listened to this album and will never do that again. Too much going on in all the wrong places, a terrible mesh of too many ideas. They're good at their instruments, but they don't have any idea what works to pull a song together, let alone an album.

I'm going to try to go into this with an open mind and ignore the massive trolling that has taken place since victory signed these kids. rSo the band throws around a lot of ideas, and while I think they intended well, nothign really worked. The instrumentalists just aren't good enough to play the mathy grindcore (trying to imitate IWABO a bit) sections and those fall flat. Primarily the drumming is very unimaginative and lacks precision. rThe poppy electronic sections go a step further and force the listener not to take them seriously. I don't know who came up with the idea to put bubblegum pop choruses in metalcore, but this Attack Attack malarkey needs to stop, it just sounds bad.rOverall this entire album feels like a bunch of random musical ideas duck-taped together with pro-tools. It shows a lack of maturity in songwriting and simply floods the market with this shitty electronic/core genre that really only few bands can pull off without sound and looking like total toolbags. rSkip this incoherent horse dung and listen to Enter Shikari or iwrestledabearonce instead.

Remarkably not terrible, Design the Skyline managed to improve and put out a slightly-below-average album, rather than the awful shitfest that everyone expected. Vocalists really drag the band down, and the two instrumentals Requiem and Nevaeh actually are surprisingly enjoyable. Weird, right?

Design the Skyline has lived up to expectations as one of the worst bands in modern music, and Nevaeh showcases exactly that. Whatever genre you decide to toss this group into, they just plain suck at. The horrible vocals are laughable, the instrumentals and plain and boring and nothing here has any appeal of any kind. Avoid Design the Skyline by all costs, it could save your life.
