I wish they didn't try to be "fun" on this album. That's the main difference between this and early ETF. DIYLF was serious (except Situations) but a lot of this is gimmicky and seems like a joke. That being said, Ronnnie sounds good and there is some catchy stuff. I just wish they took a more serious approach.

This has a total of like three pretty solid tracks otherwise its Ronnie Radke ejaculating ego on everyone with his cocky attitude and autotuned as fuck pop vocals

His vocals are good but everything else just seems so meeh. Guitars are good at times. Lyrics are pretty bad at time. The song Tragic Magic gave me a laugh. Good Songs: Don't Mess With Ouija Boards, Sink or Swim, and Goodbye Gracefull. If there was more more songs like this it would be a lot better album but the songs like Tragic Magic, Good Girls Bad Guys, and Pick Up The Phone make this album not appealing. Also he gives himself way to much credit like saying hes the best in the business and there the kings of music like in the song The Westerner.

Pretty average. Some great vocals, some bad. Some awesome guitar work, some dreadfully rboring. Everything pretty much balances out to a 2.5.rAvoid the song "Tragic Magic" at ALL costs. It is the worst song released in years.

Waited years for this, worth it. Radke will always be my fav vocalist. But fuck Good Girls
Bad Guys and Pick Up the Phone, so bad. Still a 5 though cause the rest makes up for it.

I wasn't expecting The Drug in Me is You to be a spectacular debut from this band - fronted by Ronnie Radke, the ex-vocalist for Escape the Fate. But I was also expecting this album to, at the very least, be an overall passable record. While the frontman's voice suits a good number of the tracks on the CD, Ronnie's the only member you'll bother discussing about. Everyone else is either too pre-occupied with delivering lightning fast solos that go barely anywhere, or content on being held back by Falling in Reverse's leader; it helps not one iota that the guy spends too much time taking pot shots at his former band, all while half-assing his growls and making the rest of the gang seldom experiment - with uninspiringly farcical results.

I did not mean to rate this a 5.0 I merely clicked the wrong rating. I just got off work and am tired this is not a classic album, but it is not a horrible one either. 3.5 is well deserved.

I liked this album a lot the first time I heard it when it came out. Now, while I don't dislike it, it definitely is not as good as I previously thought. There are some downright terrible lyrics and moments throughout the album, but there are some very good ones as well (well good songs/moments anyways, good lyrics aren't really found anywhere). Raised by Wolves is an awesome song, as is The Drug In Me Is You, I'm Not A Vampire, Sink Or Swim, Goodbye Graceful, and Don't Mess With Ouija Boards. Pick Up The Phone is a fairly solid track (don't understand the hate for it). Tragic Magic is unbelievably bad. Good Girls, Bad Guys is also pretty damn bad. Caught Like A Fly has a decent chorus, but everything else is bad. The Westerner is a meh track with an overly annoying "doo doo doo doo doo" singing part in the middle. One thing I just realized, some of the choruses sound fairly samey. Ex: The Drug In Me Is You and The Westerner. Overall, I'm tempted to give this album a 3.5 but I know that's just too high for this band and the effort into this album. The album is move of a 3.25 or slightly below. So, going with a 3.
Edit: I get the hate for Pick Up The Phone now. Can't believe I contemplated giving this a 3.5 at one point. Bumped down to a 2.5 now.

For every enjoyably catchy song on this record (Raised by Wolves, The Drug In Me, Ouija Boards) there was an insanely annoying, equally catchy song (Tragic Magic, Good Girls Bad Guys, Caught Like A Fly) to split my opinion of "The Drug in Me" right down the middle.

Catchy fun, and for all of Radke's faults there's no denying he's a decent vocalist. The problem is the entire album (and the band in general) just seems insincere and a bit of a joke. I'd consider them a 'guilty pleasure' rather than a band you'd want to recommend to a friend.

Attempting to establish a leading position in the Post-Hardcore genre, Falling In Reverse instead falls victim to awkward song structuring, quirky musical moments, and most importantly, the frontman's self-indulgent lyrics turn a band with decent potential into Ronnie-Core.

i felt that this wasn't a joke at all. ronnie really does hate escape the fate that much >.< i felt that he made A LOT of references towards them that may have been sort of unnecessary, but can you really blame him? :/ awesome album, great lyrics, and i love ronnie radke.

Who's better, you ask? Falling in Mediocrity or Escape the Genericness? Truth is, Radke's sophomore effort as Falling In Reverse leaves a lot to be desired. To put it simply, the ideas were there; the execution (most of the time) wasn't. There are a few standout tracks, such as Sink or Swim's catchy although poppy chorus and musical composition, and sheer awesomeness that is Raised by Wolves. I've seen worse, but I've seen much better.
