| 3.5 great | Brandon Scott | June 12th 11 | Coming off an average debut album, the departure (and subsequent rejoining) of the ever controversial Austin Carlile, Of Mice & Men have still managed to overcome all their trials and tribulations to craft a modern post-hardcore album that is actually worth giving a damn over; more creative song-writing, better instrumentals and with Shayley Bourget's soaring vocals taking more precedence than seen before, Of Mice & Men are a band that is well on their way to some well-deserved success.

| 4.0 excellent | Deuce8311 | May 27th 12 | An excellent sophmore album that shows Of Mice & Men are leaning toward becoming a more complete band. The fact the they showed massive improvement from their debut is the number one reason why. The other important reason is that they are also beginning to find their own sound. Probably the best part of this album, at least in my opinion, are Shayley's vocals. They fit the dark mood of most of the songs and are just plain beauitful at times. The songwriting has also improved a good amount. They show some diversity and really let Shayley soar with the completely clean "My Understandings" and "When You Can't Sleep At Night". From start to finish the album keeps you guessing and is not repitive. I never thought I could get into this band, but that all changed when I heard The Flood. But just when things were looking up for OMM, Shayley has left the band and now no one knows how the next album will be. No disrespect to Austin, but I just can't see the next album being as good without Shayley singing the cleans.

| 0.0 | ASnideRemark | March 3rd 12 | With soaring cleans, aggressive and powerful screams, hard hitting instrumentals and varied songwriting, Of Mice & Men have created an album that won't break any records, but uses the best aspects of the album to its advantage, most notably the vocal work.

| 4.0 excellent | c0nf1n3d | July 14th 11 | Definitely better than the first album, but there's still a lot missing. The musical progression is better, and their idea of their 'true sound' is coming to be. Making a sequel song "Still YDG'n" was a great idea, and other songs like "Purified", "O.G. Loko", "Let Live", "Ohioisonfire", and "Product of a Murderer" are all really catchy and have really good hard hitting parts. While some of the guitar parts have become better than the debut, a lot of high-string lead lines have been taken out completely to be replaced by chug-chug parts. It works, but I personally miss some of it. Regardless, the new songwriting is drastically improved, the lyrics are good, the production is solid, and the musicianship is great. "I'm a Monster" is a bit of a letdown, "Ben Threw" shows that Austin Carlile can sing well, and "When You Can't Sleep at Night" is a surprising nice acoustic track. Also, "My Understandings" is a huge change-up for the band, so check out that tune.

| 4.5 superb | digimental101 | August 3rd 12 | One of my favorite modern metalcore albums. A nice amount of diversity in songwriting (for the genre), and Joey Sturgis turns in some of his best production work here; the bassy tone sounds like butter to my ears.

| 4.5 superb | Caraballo | April 23rd 12 | The pinnacle of modern metalcore. OMAM have released an album that will prove to be a classic. Through the outstanding cleans by Shayle and Austin's harsh screams mixed with solid guitar work an outstanding drumming, the OMAM have established themselves as one of the top bands on the scene.

| 4.0 excellent | MattTheSkylines | March 19th 12 | This very well could be one of the best albums to ever enter the scene. Incredible lyrics, soaring cleans, epic breakdowns, and fast, hard hitting drums. Austin has proved that OM&M is where he belongs and Shayley sure knows how to compliment that. Though the production isn't the best, this album has showcased one of the biggest upcoming bands in the scene. There's no doubt in my mind these guys will becoming huge.

| 5.0 classic | Shiduba | February 15th 12 | I don't care about other people's opinions, I love this album to death. It's generic metalcore, but who cares? It's generic metalcore done so well that the other bands don't have anything to put against this. Well, except Memphis May Fire. The riffs are so simple but oh so good and both vocalists show awesome ability in building catchy choruses and fun breakdowns. There just is something special in The Flood.

| 4.5 superb | Jordan Wylie | December 23rd 11 | Album is awesome. Vocals are key, Shayley displays great emotion and how beautiful his voice really is in songs like "My Understandings" and "When You Can't Sleep at Night." Austin Carlile on the other hand shows how talented of a vocalist he is on songs like "Ohioisonfire" and "OG Loko." The album is solid from top to bottom, this was not a hard decision for me to give this a good rating.

| 4.0 excellent | Mosh | November 13th 11 | Well, Of Mice & Men took a slight step in another direction. This album isn't as hard as their first album but of course this album BLOWS there debut away! I'm a little disappointed in Austin's vocals, it doesn't compare to how amazing he sounded in their last album but this album is almost spectacular. The clean vocals and the instrumentals are just mind blowing. Almost every song on this album is super catchy, well made, and has heart.

| 4.0 excellent | Demasses | July 2nd 11 | A real step up from thier debut effort. Of Mice & Mens real talent shines in this album with maybe a few short comings but I think that most people will be able to over look these and see this album is solid

| 3.0 good | Comatorium. | June 13th 11 | I must be the only one who thinks Austin becomes grating halfway through the album and that the cleans
are awful. The album is pretty fun in small doses though. But some of those breakdowns... gay as fuck.

| 4.0 excellent | Chris Higgins | June 13th 11 | A solid follow-up to their debut, raising their own personal bar in so many ways and overcoming all obstacles to create an album worth remembering this year.
