4.0 excellent | JesusV4 | February 16th 10 | Regarded as the greatest Ministry "dud, this album is actually pulverizing in its dead slow sledgehammer pounding crawl. Give it several listens, it really grows on you! Awesome songs = "Dead Guy", "Reload", and "Hot Lava"

4.5 superb | ManiacBlasphemer | October 17th 19 | How do you recognize people who profess to be great heavy metal fans and yet are afraid of heavy metal? By giving them this album to listen to. Severely underrated by Ministry standards, this album is considered by both fans and non-Ministry fans as a failed experiment. You see, the music is slow, sludgy slow. And people wanted another Psalm 69. That's this album's greatest sin. However, those who care less about these 'sins' and gives a few more spins to this album will notice an exceptional songwriting talent in it. Al was good at both thrashy, speedy industrial metal and at playing slower industrial metal. Despite the music being slow, it evokes a lot of power, the wall of sound is just astounding and plenty of tracks that are as catchy as any Ministry classics. Absolute highlights: 1-3, 6, 8 and 9. Also terrific: 8 and 10. The only average ones are in the middle.

4.5 superb | Alabaster Jones | August 28th 16 | On Filth Pig, Ministry goes sludge. Do I really need to say anything more than that? No, but anyways, the band up until this point had been known for their fast-paced, manic take on industrial metal, and were one of the sole most influential bands in the genre. Filth Pig is like if you took the music that made them influential, like Psalm 69's, slowed it down a decent lot and added a mucky, ugly production job. The bass has a thunderous presence here, and the riffs are effectively simple and full of sludge. Al Jourgensen turns in a wickedly pissed off vocal performance, and the drums feel as organic and powerful as ever. Slowing down what once was a blistering pace, seething with rage at every juncture, and sounding as murky and unwashed as the man on the cover, Filth Pig also served as a musical symbol of the height of Al Jourgensen's heroin addiction, and through every tortured snarl or yell, you can clearly hear this. It's truly a shame the album is as polarizing as it is, because the band would never again do something like this. It's definitely the oddball in Ministry's discography, and as such is a phenomenal record.

0.0 | Pig01 | February 24th 12 | Ministry is a hard ass Industrial band that knows how to bang heads. Their 'Filth Pig' explains this. How would YOU like to have harsh vox's that sound like you're vomiting and killer bone eating guitar riffs that are both intense and fun to listen to all in an album? If you're a REAL industrial fan you'd like it. Good god, these riffs in this album are almost untouchable. The production, yes, is a little too raw and maniacal, but the guitars and drums make up for it. Together, in the tracks, they are killer.
track 1 is a quick, fast paced song. track 2, ohh boy, *** ME it's the best song on the album. lead on by a simple bone crunching guitar riff, it's the best this album has to offer. track 3 and 4 are pretty good, and have amazing vocals. track 5 kinda blows, track 6 is called 'Dead Guy.' You'd think it'd be industrial as ***, but it actually is, with the vomiting vox's and killer riffs. and the bass on this one rules too.
the rest of this amazing craftwork is just standard ministry, with arrays of riffs and assorted drum patterns.
in conclusion, this album is REAL, FULL FORCE INDUSTRIAL m/. Don't let anyone fool you, it's seriously amazing. *** rolling stone giving this bitch a 2/5, go buy this album NOW
