OK so after a few more listens, I've come to the conclusion that the album lyrically, is shallow. Some lyrics are just horrid. Musically it's quite inventive (for post hardcore) and you can even say that it has its moments where it shines. The evident choruses of most songs are where this albums fails. While everything else works quite well, this area lacks substance and creativity, resulting in overall dissatisfaction. However, I can't compare this to their previous record as I've never listened to it.
Saw these guys live in the UK recently supporting Rise To Remain and Heaven Shall Burn, quite enjoyed their set so picked up the CD. I have to admit, there's something different about this band that stands out compared to the masses of metalcore out there. Everytime i listen to this album it just grows on me more!
