Dr. Dre is the embodiment of the west coast persona; riding round, shooting fully loaded glocks, fucking bitches, smoking weed, repeat. Dr. Dre helped make some of the West Coasts biggest stars, and on his, made superstar rapper Snoop D-O-Double-G. As a producer, he is among the best in hip hop, completing live orchestrations of samples instead of just taking the sample and then using it. With 2001, Dre is asking all of his newest buddies he helped make famous to help him loop his own album together, and boy do they do the job well. Guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Eminem, and Kurupt help make the album a west coast banger, while Dr. Dre continues his G-Funk genius, with each beat smooth and easy, while the production remains crisp and fresh-sounding. 2001 is another Dr. Dre wonder, and while it may not be quite as good as The Chronic, 2001 is an excellent hip hop album full of funky beats, excellent production, and fun as hell gangsta raps that will keep up for hours listening.

by far not the best rhymes out there, but SUCH SICK BEATS. kudos to mike elizondo (the main guitarist/keyboardist/bassist/composer of a shit ton of dre, eminem, and 50 cent songs), luis resto, and mark baston for making some more incredible beats on this one.

I'm not incredibly big on this album but I remember listening to it when I was 11 and I still have sogns that I listen to. It was a good rap album but I can never stand the over ecessive swearing on a few tracks.
Regardless its a half decent album. I liked it
