Seems like every band I used to love releases nothing but crap now a days. This was painful to listen to. What the hell is up with the vocals on this album? They're atrocious.

How the mighty have fallen. A long, embarrassing downward spiral from smart, politically aware, hook-driven punk-flavoured rock right into dumb, politically apathetic, hollow corporate rock. It started with The Sufferer and the Witness back in 2006 and it's ended up here, somewhere several kilometres below the bottom of the barrell. The passion and the heart that turned you into an RA fan to begin with is nowhere to be seen here. A damn shame.

After listening to "Help is On the Way", I though this album could be good. I mean, it was catchy, good instruments, awesome vocals, even a SCREAM. To be honest, that's about the only really good song on it. OK, maybe I was a bit harsh saying that. But let's be fair: this album is like if they found one song, and made a whole bunch others out of the same song. Gah, I really had too high hopes for this release.

As a Rise Against fan, this is just a plain album. While there are many catchy hooks and songs to be found here, nothing truly stands out above anything the band has done before.

If Sufferer is a 4.5/5, then this is at least a 4, no questions asked. I'm a fan of Appeal (i personally find it to be better than Siren Song, but that's just me and I tend to forgive the use of production), but this is just creatively fresh in ways that Appeal wasn't. I can see where people would say Help is on the Way- a ridiculously infectious track btw- sounds like a B-side to Appeal, but it's hardly representative of the entire album. The very rhythm/ syncopation with which Tim articulates the lyrics feels different in just the right ways to positively distinguish the album (see chorus of Satellite). My only complaint so far is Midnight Hands (the riff just brings back bad memories of Nickelback). In general, these guys have followed a trajectory similar to Bad Religion. When BR added more mid-tempo tracks into their lineup (see Recipe for Hate), people freaked. I think the key thing to remember here is that BR made those tracks shine- with a few exceptions (cough-New America). The same observation holds for RA and Endgame.

Okay, I have gotta say that people weren't the smartest to expect another "Siren Song" or "RPM" when it came to making this album. It was easily conceivable when it came to guessing what it might be as you progress through their discography that that would be moving in the complete opposite direction. Unlike most, I look at the album for what it is, not comparing it to their past works. Sure, it's more "mainstream", but that doesn't make it bad! Heck, if Rise Against is able to extend their message to many more people through the radio, then by all means go for it! I'll admit, I've only listened to "Help is on the Way", "Architects", and "Satellite", but each of those songs provided me with an enjoyable tune. They don't have the fierce power of "Give it All" or "Chamber the Cartridge", but they are all good in their own right (In my opinion).rI became a Rise Against fan off of "Savior", but I'm more a fan of songs off Siren Song and Sufferer.rIt ain't selling out unless the message is no longer there. They are attacking political messages as strongly as ever, and I'll be buying this album in about 12 hours. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, this is just mine.

Rise Against has always stuck to their guns and have sent out a progressive and positive message to their listeners. They have been a band for 10 years and have yet to make a bad album; pretty tough to do. Big fan. Keep it real Rise Against!

I feel like Rise Against has been born again with the same feel as The Suffer and the Witness. Appeal to
Reason just didn't feel comftorable and it felt unevenly paced, this album just shows how much they can
