4.0 excellent | mkamrass | December 13th 13 | This is some awesome brutal death metal with grind elements added in also. Another plus is that Putrid Pile consists of one man, and he definitely seems to know what he is doing on this album in creating good death metal.

3.5 great | lospokey | July 23rd 07 | Putrid Pile play old school inspired death metal with a touch of new age DM, such as the weak pig squels in the chorus of "Severed Head Memento", but they are weak because he didn;t use a pitch shifter. But back to the music, this a all around great death metal album, it has everything a brutal death metal fan needs gory lyrics, wonderfuly horrific cover art, riffs that will shred you into tiny little peices, guttural vocals that seem to come straight from the bowels. so if you enjoy brutal death metal than this album has your name all over it!!!!

4.0 excellent | Macaulay McCulkin | June 21st 06 | This is Putrid Pile, one of the only good grind bands out there. Let me tell you, I'm not a huge fan of grind. The fact that i'm giving this cd a 4 is really like a classic to people who love grind. This is really classic for grind actually, up in the ranks of cattle decapitation and sorts. It has a bit of a Cannibal Corpse feel to it, but manages to surpass CC in many ways. The dual vocal assualt is simply amazing, the low pitch is like Cannibal Corpse, but much lower and i can't understand a word it says. I can't really tell what the high-pitch sounds like, sorta like Suicide Silence, i guess that's the best i can compare it to. The instruments are sorta just grind; i.e. heavy. If you are a fan of grind, you NEED to get this album, even death metal fans may find this interesting
