I'm sorry, I just don't get this one. Probably the most disappointing album I've ever listened to based off of Sputnikmusic.com praise. While each individual song was at least good, I found them all to sound very similar and derivative. This also meant that I didn't get that the album had a good flow to it (very important for me when it comes to albums). The power chords got boring for me, and the drumming was very rarely (if ever, I don't recall an exception) not a 4/4 beat with a fill every four bars. I really just don't get why you all like it so much but I'm glad to see that your praise didn't corrupt my objectivity. I really don't enjoy this album but I might give it another try. Bump

Along with Korn, the Deftones helped create a genre destined to birth some truly bad talent. However, White Pony shows the band moving onto better things. Increasing the atmosphere, darkness, and Chino's vocal talent, White Pony is a depressing masterpiece of human emotion and things that go 'bump in the night'. Bump

White Pony. A seriously scary record. Expect riff's that could come straight out of your worst nightmare's but yet carry a strong dose of hope with it. Moving basslines and soulfull drumming. The best thing has yet to come. Chino Moreno, a man loved and hated by many. A poet whose soul lies in making the most controversial and confusing lyrics, that he can spew out with anger and emotion. This was the first release with the addition of the DJ "Frank Delgrado". Songs such as Digital Bath and "Pink Maggit" were occupied with serene sound effects, as well as gloomy background noises. As scary this album is, it is one of the best one. Bump

When i was a kid and nu-metal was all the rage i never really got the Deftones, probably because there aren't hideously bad like most nu-metal acts but coming back to them when my musical tastes have matured somewhat i realise both what i was missing and why i didnt like them in the first place. This is a truly outstanding record, the best piece of nu-metal ever made. Bump

I loathed this album with a passion when I first heard it. This is an album that seriously took over a year to grow on me. Maybe because a year ago my favorite band was Godsmack.... yeah, exactly. Anywho, this album is the best the Tones will probably ever put out. This album shows a more mellow, Cure-induced side than the nu-metal-ish sound Deftones usually bring out. You love this album or you hate it. No in between. Bump

The atmosphere and feelings each song gives off make this album great. Chino's ethereal vocals, Stephen's simple guitar work, Abe's amazing drumming and Chi working the strings all make it work along with Frank on the turntables. Bump
