Just a straight forward album. It deserves nothing less than a five, for the song writing is impassable, and the lyrics speak from the heart truly. If it was done exactly the same way by a computer, it still would not be the same, because I can tell Camel really put their heart in this one. Nothing can replace this passion.

An amazing album.It continues with the same spirit of The Snow Goose and it is very quiet rand peaceful overall. It took some time to grew on me but the album is certinley amazing.

Another one of Camel's best, although not on the same level as Mirage or Snow Goose when speaking of quality and consistency. I credit this work for being one of the most diverse Camel records, along with Snow Goose, however, while containing a vast multitude of musical textures, the album can be a tad inconsistent. For example, "Song within A Song" shows promise within the first half but then drags on for the rest of the track, a similar problem with the next track "Chord Change". To that end, the album also has some of Camel's best moments, such as the gripping intro track called "Aristillus" and the perfectly executed tracks "Another Night" and "Lunar Sea". This album floats between a 4 and a 4.5 but usually ends up on the lower side because of the inconsistency. Don't fret, it's still a largely underrated album, just not as consistent as Camel's prior works, and even with this, it is still among their best. One has to appreciate the fact that each track has it's own unique sound and collection of riffs, just as other songs from previous Camel albums do.

A wonderful composition showcasing features of all three previous Camel masterpieces. It has the overall flow of Goose, sophisticated but minimalistic and calm prog of Mirage, and even moments of hard rocking edge from the s/t debut like in Another Night. Overall wonderful, and might get a future bump.

The exceptional musicianship from the band brings about a calm and soothing environment in this album. The best track probably is the instrumental "Lunar Sea" among other amazing tracks.

The stellar follow-up to '75's The Snow Goose shows Latimer and company at their apex. Here, prog's understated maestros have crafted a 7-song slab of mellow, symphonic-flavored rock, coherently uniting their fanciful pop sensibilities with their penchant for extended, gorgeously-textured instrumental passages. Winding bass and jazz-tinged percussion form the bedrock for soaring guitar leads and unearthly keys, producing one affecting, memorable moment after another. Serene, plaintive and genuine, Moonmadness is a progressive masterpiece not to be overlooked.
