Big Boi may not be widely considered the star of Outkast, but his first ever (official) solo recording shines an unmistakeable spotlight nonetheless. Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty will by no means leave you pensive with overwhelming metaphysical conflicts post-listen, but be prepared to nod your head to some of the best southern hip-hop since, well, the last Outkast offering.

Greatness is acheived many times on here. I can barely count the times where the album doesn't sound great (only "Theme Song", even then that's good), and ultimately the consistency of this big hip hop funk jam makes it the perfect summer album. "Shine Blockas", "Shutterbug", and "Fo Yo Sorrows" are such obvious highlights, but the rest of the songs are great too. Listen to "Shine Blockas (Remix)" to hear Bun B and Project Pat on the track as well.

Big Boi proves that he is the more interesting of the two Outkast members on this record, at rleast musically. His flow is so nice, he makes it nearly impossible to pause the album. rIt's like the musical equivalent of a page-turner. I mean, I'm not crazy about this like rmost of the rest of you seem to be, but it's a really really solid album and an enjoyable rlisten for sure. Right now, it's a 3.5 but I could see this easily becoming a 4.

Up until Kanye’s recent release this was without a doubt the best Hip-Hop release of the year. Half of the famed duo Outkast, Big Boi has finally released his long anticipated debut record and it will not disappoint. Sir Lucious Left Foot the Son of Chico Dusty has some of the best produced tracks of the year from the sizzling club beats in Shutterbug to the operatic tones of General Patton.This is a complete album with catchy beats, great lyrics and a handful of fantastic guest spots including T.I., Janelle Monae and B.o.B. In a genre that’s been plagued by mediocre top 40 mainstream MC’s, Big Boi shows that there is plenty of fresh material to be had.

i'm a big outkast fan to say the least my favorite rap group after goodie mob. but since idlewild i have been disappointed with their efforts as a group and the big boi solo stuff, 3 stacks always spits fire on what ever he's on whether rapping or singing. oukast needs to give us another classic to add to the list i would have rather had a 3 stacks solo effort not really feelin' this only song i'm crazy about is "Fo Yo Sorrows".

The best rapper from a legendary duo, great beats, and great guests make a wonderful album. The production changes in style from the dark, African vibe of "Tangerine" to the bouncy, clave-based track "You Ain't No DJ" to the chill, elevator-music like "Turns Me On". "Fo Yo Sorrows", "Shine Blockas" (both the original and remix), "Shutterbugg", and "Turns Me On" are some really good highlights. This is a great summer album, as the production never hits a melancholy note and stays great throughout. The rhymes are pretty good as well.This will be on many end of the year/best of 2010 (at least for hip-hop) lists. Bulldog be diggin', yo. Get this.
"Fo Yo Sorrows" has a superbly song chorus by Sam Chris, as well. Just amazing...
