Am I giving this a genuine 9?? Am I giving a 20 minute Rebecca Black project a 9??? I think so. Thank you Marcus Andersson and Nightfeelings for your thick blocky chunky lightning strike noises. Thank you Rebecca Black for putting together some killer hooks AND looks (That Salvation music video??). Let Her Burn was an awesome step into Black finding her landscape, but here is a pure, distilled sense of the artists intent. WOW. Could be EP of the year.

Leave it to Sputnik to have a bunch of low tier comments about Brat for literally no reason at all in a comment section about another excellent pop release. SALVATION is only 21 minutes long but in that short span Rebecca Black drops 7 great songs that all have their own sort of flavor. The entire project packs danceable energy and Rebecca Black shows off talents for writing vocal melodies and infectious hooks. Favorite sections are the beginning of Trust! with falsetto vocals paired with a guitar erupting into a heavy dancepop beat, the singing in the chorus of Salvation and the super upbeat sections of Do You Even Think About Me? that sound like an improved version of what Dua Lipa was doing on Future Nostalgia. Wonderful vocals with some really bangin' beats.

Rebecca Black turns the corner to finally capitalize on the potential she's shown since her artistic shift into darker and weirder territory. This thing absolutely whips. "Tears in My Pocket" is utterly bonkers.
