I found this album to be quite bad to be frank. The vocals, expecially the screaming, sound forced and weak. The interludes between like every two or so tracks make for a boring listen. Chiodos deffinately isn't up to par with the bands it competes with in the post hardcore genre (thrice, thursday, the fall of troy).

this is one im really struggling with. at the time when this came out, i thought it was just immaculate. the ups and downs and mix of whiny vocals and piano backed breakdowns was something i just found magical. 10 years later, i listen to those same songs i once praised, and i can only find myself saddened by the fact that my ears were, to say the least, either plugged completely or im listening to a different CD. sorry, chiodos. its amateur, its poorly produced, its like putting cheese on nachos; its totally been done before and its also bad cheese.

This album is very good. The Craig is a very talented vocalist and even if you don't like his high pitched vocal style, you can't say that he isn't talented unless you can reach those high notes. I really used to dislike this band and I somehow grew to love them, that seems to be the case for a lot of people. The guitars are amazing as well as the drumming and most of the songs are very interesting and unpredictable. I give this album a four.

i could never really call craig owens a "great" singer but everything else about AWTEW makes it a classic within it's brand of post hardcore

Craig Owens' vocals are decent on their own; he can sure hit those high notes, yet his screaming is also a bit of a detriment. That said, All's Well That Ends Well by Chiodos makes for an alright release augmented just a little bit by Bradley Bell's skills as the band's keyboardist/synth player, and some intriguing guitar work here and there. There might be better post-hardcore groups such as Envy, Thrice, Waterdown, and Thursday, but Chiodos is sure to impress listeners with their first outing; whether you hate them for it or otherwise.

I disagree with most of this review starting with the music itself. Chiodos does not sound like any band i have listened to and therefore I don't see how it can be called generic in any way. I think Chiodos did many of the things they set out to do in this album (although BPB was definately an improvement.) As far as the singing goes, it is very obvious why many people don't like Craig Owen's singing because he's just not very good, but I don't think it brings the band down as much as the review suggests. The instrumentals in this band are far from generic or cookie cutter or anything of that nature and arent crappy. These guys can play. I am not in any way "insecure about my music taste" and I like this band. Here's hoping they keep up the good work.

I love thier high pitched singing, but it wouldn't be in my top five of amazing CDs. Like Jack Wilson, he does crack up in his vocals and it just messes up my love for the song

At first, I really didn't want to like this band, given the lead singer's penchant for singing offkey, but after some solid spin time, I came to love this band as much as any other in my collection. It just takes a little getting used to the strangeness of it all.

wow talk about a band who i hated then grew to love i used to think craigs vocals were horrid but if you keep listening they will grow on you i could have used more bass and the drumming could have been better but over all i fell in love with this one. and i think everyone should give it a listen.

Chiodos is one of those "high pitched vocal" band. I thought it would be like all the others but I was gravely mistaken when i heard the originality and flow of this album. Not a bad live show to boot.
