If you were to drive a car off a cliff while rabid hyenas were chasing you while two amazing hot girls in the backseat were simultaneously attempting to have intercourse with you while you sang "Rubber Ducky, You're the One" at the top of your lungs while eating a grilled cheese sandwich that danced when you tried to take a bite of it you might have an equal amount of chaotic fun as Daughters gives you.

It's just not good. The vocals flow awfully, they are also awful themselves, the songs are all the same and do not stand out whatsoever from each other, the album is boring. The only positives qualities, like the quirky and interesting use of synths and electronics, and the sometimes stellar interludes are completely ruined by the more prominent bad ideas. The album isn't horrible, but it's just boring, really no replay value and to many bad moments to be solid.

This is one of the most discordant, noisy, rambunctious, tension-filled albums I've ever listened too. It works. It just works. It has enough variety to separate it from being another straight wall of noise and to keep it from sounding like it thinks it's something it's not. There are some moments where it seems the reason for the tracks on here is thematically the same in every track. It almost seems they want the vocals to do that job, but it's almost impossible to hear the vocals because of the loud, but consistent instrumentation.

Really did not like the first track so I was a bit skeptical going into it, but tracks 2-5 bang so hard they completely changed my mind. If punk had been invented in the 2010s by people who were abducted by aliens in their teenage years and carried extraterrestrial eggs in their brains that's what it would sound like. 4.2

The Hit. Its overall atmosphere is less intriguing than YWGWYW but damn it hits much more. It's also, quite weirdly, almost upbeat in its madness. Like a good-looking sociopath.

so with these guys I actually understood that Grind music goes from hardcore punk, metal, anarco-punk, noise rock e rock industrial. This is from the noisemusic anarco-punk genres. Is short (27 minutes) so its a pretty intense experience which feels longer than its actual length...because of the abuse of repetition and the tracks progress only slightly and only in terms of intensity too often. Good stuff but does little for me.

absolutely booming and intrusive, but definately daughters' most accessible release to date. if you like your noise rock to sound like terrifically deranged asylum inmates injected with raw talent, but for some reason you think that you'd also like to party naked and rough with these unhinged patients, this is for you. daughters' self-titled is the most fun you could have while 4 manic monkeys with scalpels cleverly disguised as real instruments evasively cut away at your insides for their own amusement while a delusional doctor wanders around them in an unsettling fashion, yowling bizarre, macabre instructions in their direction.
