When listening to this album or watching the live performance, the music elevates so much higher than it felt on the studio album. Serj's voice is at its best and the orchestral compositions make these songs truly shine.
While the idea of this album is neat, the symphony seems to take away from the tracks, adding unnecessary sections to the songs. I personally would have preferred a real live album without the orchestra...this one is just disappointing...I guess what works for Metallica (on S&M) doesn't work for everyone. On the bright side, Serj's voice sounds fantastic throughout the album.
It's fantastic. I've never heard such a great live album, some of the songs sound completely different, but still got the point. And Serj shows himself as one of the best live singers I've ever listened to. Gives me chills everytime I listen to it.
Being probably the only person on this site who thoroughly enjoyed Serj's solo debut, I also enjoyed this live offering. I even think I like it more than the album, and the DVd is an enjoyable view. Different strokes, I guess
