Mucho sappy. Goulding's debut truly sounds and feels like an adolescent record - with slight folktronica influences bringing some diversity to the decidedly 2010 electropop canvas. While one can't criticize her sincerity, it just doesn't appeal to me. She's got a very wide vocal range tho.

It's nearly a crime how unnoticed Ellie Goulding goes, she makes great music. Lights hits all its notes properly and it shows Ellie has great song writing range. On one hand you have a moody but upbeat song like Lights next to songs like Under the Sheets and the The Writer.rI really think Emily Haines could take a lesson from Ellie Goulding in writing upbeat and great electro pop. A fantastic album start to finish.

Ellie Goulding has such a unique voice, and her strength is the delicacy and the quiver with which she delivers her lyrics. Pairing up her voice with fast paced electronic beats just doesn't work, not to mention that the instrumentation on this album seems like a b-rate 80's new wave band.

One of the biggest surprises in all my music listenings. Ellie's voice mixed with electro-pop and some folk here and there sounds devilishly good.

This is what a woman sounds like!! Take note lady gaga, and ke$ha you've just been showed up. Lights is a dreamy pop album filled with plenty of great little moments and superb songwriting. I don't usually like this music but this is just great. Ellie has such a wonderful voice and better yet it's not autotuned.
