For the most part, these covers are very well-done - I'm in an odd spot on this though, having never heard of half of the original songs. Of the ones I can compare, the rendition of Elbow's Mirrorball is just as stunningly beautiful as the original, Talking Heads' paranoid Listening Wind is turned into a story of someone becoming a freedom fighter/terrorist out of desperation (I actually prefer this version), and the climax of the cover of David Bowie's Heroes is wonderful, even if before that point it's rather unremarkable. On a low note, the one terrible cover on here is also the closer, the atrocious cover of Radiohead's Street Spirit (which stings even more since that's the song that got me to buy this album.) Overall, it's an interesting set of reinterpretations mostly done quite well.
