Sputnikmusic users tend to overrate a lot of mediocrity, but Night Verses is a case of a
broken clock.
A seamless blend of frisson-inducing soundscapes and heavy distorted rhythms with an
occasional dose of their signature AI woman voice samples.
A rare mix of top notch musicianship, production, aesthetic, and most importantly -
inspiration.

It's a granted fact that every sound has a color in the valley of night, but what they don't tell you is that every sound also has a shape in the valley of night, and Every Sound Has a Color in the Valley of Night makes some really cool colors and shapes in the valley of night, and also sounds fantastic in the valley of night.

slightly disappointed in the length for half of a "double album." will come back to my rating
after a few spins.
Edit: The length is still disappointing but the songs rule. Even the more mellow tracks have
really grown one me. But it feels more and more like the decision to split the album in two was
less musical but more financial and logistical, which is totally fine. But it doesn't really feel
like part 1, more like just half of an album that is missing the other half. The previous album
probably had some better songs but this may be better overall but ultimately, being released in
two halves may hurt its legacy. It was really really cool that Aric created a Sputnik account to
ask us not to judge the album until you hear the whole thing. But that is an impossible request! I
am going to listen to the first half 20 times, then wait 5 months and listen to the other half. It
will never feel the same as if it was all released at once.

Watching Aric Improta play drums on youtube for over a decade makes me grateful that Night Verses is a vehicle to get more of that sweet percussion in my ears. It really helps that the rest if the band is god tier talent as well. rIf anyone hasn't seen it, please watch Aric jam with the Protest The Hero's (newer) bassist on youtube: My Son, the Leopard. Still one of my favorite things in the world of music.

The dynamic trio return invigorated that?s great and full of everything that has made this band stand out as invigorating and fresh. Even though it serves as ?part 1" and doesn?t feel as whole as it could be on it?s own; I?m just happy this is happening now, and anticipating that this is still just great build up for the next half of this record.

I fell asleep after the work while listening the promo I've received, so this is some quality
shit, It's hard to sleep with full headphones on the head. 5/5, first part of the double album,
back to my younger days I wasnt the biggest fan of the instrumental music this thing had changed.
