3.5 great | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | May 16th 23 | Ferocious and savage record, where the band's unfortunate lack of instrumental finesse is adequately supplemented by raw devastating energy. That is to say, samey but slaps.

4.5 superb | ShadowOfTheCitadel | May 5th 23 | The most fully realized album these dudes have made. My only disappointment is that it is way
too short for how good these songs are. The Last Water Pearl is absolutely filthy.

4.0 excellent | portraitsofdecay | November 12th 23 | This is really fucking great but I still wish the instrumentation was closer to Seeing Means More Than Safety

5.0 classic | Celtics2448 | May 15th 23 | This is pretty much everything I could ever ask for out of a heavy record. Not sure anyone can ever top this, this is just tremendous shit.

4.0 excellent | ajcollins15 | May 12th 23 | The four-man screamo band bounces back into form in their signed album Post their long 20-year hiatus from 2001-2019. On ?The Gray In Between? we see their loud noise rock blend with harrowing and heartbreaking screamo/emoviolence lyricism. This album is a true onslaught of sound, but there are several post-rock interludes to give your ears a break. My biggest complaint with this album is something I had a huge problem with their 2000 debut in which the guitars can sometimes almost be ear-piercingly too loud. I?m not sure if they saturated the recording, but the guitarist can almost swallow the entire waveform. Still, there is a lot to love about this new album from the band and hopefully, it shows a continuation of this heartbreaking and angry-sounding screamo.

4.3 superb | Erwann S. STAFF | May 12th 23 | Great skramz manages to fuse despaired violence and distressing elegance, ultimately creating beauty out of the ugly. This is one of those records.

4.0 excellent | NarlusKing123 | May 5th 23 | Most consistent and thought out recorded from the JD crew. I like LP and Present a lot, but this feels more like a realization of their sound. Big recommend.
