It's tough for a band to meet high expectations after a 9 year wait between albums, but this is rpretty much everything I could've wanted from a Closure In Moscow album in 2023. Outstanding rmusicianship all around. rNow I stg, if they make us wait another 9 years for the next release....

Hadn't listened to Closure In Moscow for a while as their music never hits the same with me anymore.rHowever, listened to this out of curiosity and I think it's their best work to date. They've taken the best aspects out of both previous albums here.rOnly listened all the way through once, but have come back to Lock & Key multiple times. Best track they've put out to date by far. More of that please!

'Lovelash' (I guess I love their poppier songs the most, including 'Seeds of Gold') is an instant classic for me in every way, this album would get a 5 from me if not for the last track. Very original, forward thinking music which is usually what draws me to music. Closure in Moscow is definitely a big influence on my own music! Looking forward to seeing them in February 2024 live!

The problem with Closure in Moscow is that they do not seem to be able to write a song without ruining it with superfluous tempo changes or odd lyrics. For them, being weird is good enough, which is their downfall. Better Way is the perfect example of how great this band could be if they kept making music that's more focused. While Soft Hell is not an unmitigated disaster like Pink Lemonade, it's still nowhere near as catchy and enjoyable as First Temple. The artwork for Soft Hell is amazing though!

Fitting title for the emotional turmoil felt in the lyrics and the dreamy instrumentation. The calmness towards the end of the album feels like a small in momentum, but i feel it will grow on me with more listens.
