I have no idea how to approach this collection of related songs. Every time I think I've come close to finally grasping what is happening something gets thrown in just to fuck me up. Once I finally do understand this album though, I'm going to go out buy the record, cum all over it, take a picture, and post it as a review for all you miscreants.

I never really liked this band. sure, I saw the appeal, but it was never really for me.
however, what would I want? sky is literally one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. it
is perfect. flawless.
unfortunately, I don't really love the rest of this album. but I feel dirty giving this
anything less than a 4 based solely on that track.
my opinion on these guys is very chaotic.

This is a really solid EP. "Bleed" pretty much goes in one ear and out the other, and "I Think I Can" takes a while to get anywhere (albeit with a rather satisfying result). But it's well-paced and pretty catchy, and "What Would I Want? Sky" is basically a masterpiece.

Pretty sure from here on out, Animal Collective is going to be a band you desperately love, sort of enjoy, or think are really, really stupid. Its pretty certainly the best EP the Co have released, with its fairly condensed running time and fantastic version of "What Would I Want? Sky" being the biggest contributing factor to its excellence.

This grows on you. The "Old Heads" will probably throw a rock at you for putting on the stereo, but will gasp at the brilliantly executed Jerry Garcia sample. The first track is just so...unnatrual in a way. the second the flutes start flying around i can't tell whether I'm at a pub in Scotland or flying through a beautiful meadow on rainy day. Great from start to finish. And with a little time, every vocal melody will stick in your head for a long, long time.

One of the most sublime listens I've ever had. MPP was great, any one song was amazing, but it dragged across a whole album. Maybe Animal Collective should just stick to the EP format!

Fall Be Kind is not just 5 songs. It's an experience, each song standing as one of the band's best. One of the most rewarding listens of all time reflecting on happiness, a coming to fame, and the same old question "Can we live up to it?"

Wait... didn't you say this was Animal Collective???
Last I checked they were a bunch of monkeys playing with keyboards and synthesizers... What happened? I liked Strawberry Jam and MPP but this is just straight epic.
Despite being short as a whole, the album is jam-packed with awesome moments.
My personal favorite is probably What Would I Want? Sky
From the psychedelic intro to the sick background of "whatwouldIwant? SKY" halfway through the song, to the actually slightly reasonable lyrics, it is simply awesome.
But the amazing thing is, all of the songs on the album are just as good. It sounds like they are using actual instruments in parts of their instrumental portions of the songs... but I'm not sure, this being Animal Collective after all. If so, I wonder why they choose not to use instruments more often. Otherwise, those are some really good synthesizers.
This review is sort of like the album, short, but (hopefully you agree) good.

Holy fucking shit. I haven't listened this for months, but I just gave a spin and I had this insane burst of nostalgia rand feelings and vibes. Definitely the most natural feels and textures since.....Feels. It's like viewing the most rintense autumn-based landscape through a kaleidoscope.

It's only 27 minutes long, but every second of it is packed full with a sonic exploration that is simply unmatched by any band in the indie scene today. A powerful statement, Fall Be Kind is the creative mixture of everything the band has ever done right along with a new found sense of maturity. The fact that the band had already released what many considered their defining album earlier this year makes this all the more impressive.

Is this perfect? I think it might be. What Would I Want? Sky was one I thought maybe would never capture the live magic, but it's incredible. Graze is fantastic, so glad they've finally nailed it, and the other tracks are brilliant too. Wow.
