Thankfully there?s actually weight and atmosphere to this one compared to Insulated World. There are like 5 songs here that are some of the best they ever did.

Dir En Grey is a perfect balance of 80% K-Pop and 19.5% Marilyn Manson, and 0.5% metalcore (like Korn).

Over-the-top proggy metal with many influences that follow one another with few transitions or smoothness - and despite its attempts at sounding big and wide, it just lacks some "oomph" to be impacting.

This new album from the long-standing Japanese metal band falls into the category of ?If you already like this band you will like this album but the album itself is not adding anything new.? For one of the founding creatures of the glam and gothic rock fusion into more progressive and alternative metal, visual kei, this album very much fits into a solid and classic sound that does not deter from that formula once on the whole album. But it?s fine for what it is and again if you already love this band and this style of metal then you will love this, otherwise it?s not worth your time.

Definitely a huge step up from The Insulated World. Much closer to Arche and Dum Spiro Spero in terms of quality, might even surpass those albums with further listens.rEDIT: Unfortunately after repeated listens this album didn't really have the same staying power as Arche did for me, but this is still a pretty good release and hopefully it'll serve as a good foundation for Diru to build on for their next album.
