Wormrot really brought their A-game for this, completely one-upping anything they've done before. Massive album and surprisingly dynamic for grindcore. Crushes your nuts with those riffs

Super solid, consistent and very balanced grindcore release. The album has a certain terrifying atmosphere too (sometimes DSBM-ish as well, weird take I know), especially when the chaotic violins make an appearance. Lots of pinnacles: "Seizures", "Grieve", "Sea Of Disease" and "Glass Shards" are all fascinating. Might be a grower.

I see now that the simplicity of 'Voices' and 6 years of inactivity were perhaps of essential necessity for Wormrot to both try out their roots grind one last time and then regroup for rebranding and creative throwdown of all they can muster to now finally come through with the fantastic forward-thinking record everyone knew they have had in them all along.

Grindcore can be a hard genre to standout in but Wormrot continues to impress thanks to limitless energy, excellent riff writing skills, vocal mixups and great groove-grind-groove variation. 'Hiss' has some of the straight up hardest hitting song sections of recent years. The inclusion of strings, chants and even some singing adds to the fun and this album just feels like what it is, a send off to the best group of musicians to do grind in recent times.

Wormrot spice their grindcore up with many influences, both musical - skate punk, DSBM, dumb thrash, and even occasional violins - as well as vocal ones - dude does shrieking and barking and whispering very well. Thanks to this diverse approach, Hiss manages to be an impactful - if uneven - listen that, at times, touches on the sublime ("Glass Shards" mfg).

This shit rules. Honestly shake things up, together with PD and FoH. It has some of the coolest punk hxc and post hxc cuts from comeback kid (turn it around and wake the dead era) to converge and I'm sure some other cool punk bands yall know and I dont lol. It also sticks to a sound and an own ID, cool atmosphere, narrative and what? Are these emotions I feel? In grindcore? Gtfo it almost goes blackgaze at times. Get a grip folks XDr
