Addicted is a nice mix of traditional Devy sound (Addicted!, Universe in a Ball!) and obscenely catchy poppy songs (Bend it Like Bender!, The Way Home!). The album's sound overall is comparable to Accelerated Evolution, except much more melodic in general and very synth heavy. The female vocals, done by Anneke van Giersbergen are amazing and are used very generously throughout, giving the songs their final polish. The best example of her voice is in Hyperdrive!, a remake of the one off Ziltoid; Giersbergen's voice gives the song significantly more life compared to the original. Addicted is, without a doubt, Devin's best material in years, and is proof that Devin still has his magic touch. 1 Bumps | Bump

WOW. This was a great impulse listen. I typically don't go for metal, but this is some QUALITY music. The people aren't screaming all the time, it's not so dark and depressing either. Plus, Anneke Van Giersbergen's vocals are great, very beautiful. Of course, so is Devin's. He's got an amazing range and style. It's a four for right now but it may change higher. Bump

The heavy wall of sound mixed with pop music tendencies and a very amazing guest singer make this album one of the most interesting that i've listened to for quite some time. It is impossible to hate this album - there is just so much variety and so many hooks to keep you listening to it over and over. A reinvention of Devin Townsend and a solidification of the enya-core genre. 5/5 Bump
