This is really obnoxious, but I love it. It feels like his weird experimental influences and his ability to write massive bangers have finally converged. His best solo album yet IMO.

I would have never expected Jack White to meld his rustic Americana, and garage rock influences with synthesizers and electronic elements. It works surprisingly well, and while "Boarding House Reach" wasn't the one to make me a believer, this certainly did the trick.

After the polarized response to Boarding House Reach, I was afraid Jack White would scale back on keeping things weird. I am very happy to be wrong!

Jack White's newest is a mess, but one that seems consious of its own obnoxiousness and I am not sure whether that makes it better or worse.

Experimenting is cool, but experimenting while having fun is better! White carries the artsy vibe he tried to create on his preceding record, but this time it actually works because the focus is on songs, not textures. Sure, not everything lands, but the majority of it does thanks to its angular riffs and constant groove.
