Essentially what we have here is like that one time when someone you knew, who was already kind of douche bag, well they went away to like Rome. You were of course impartial to it all, you could have truly cared less, but you instead spared no feelings for the matter. Anyway, they come back after like 3 years of being away, and you're expecting to see some amazing language skills or something. Instead when you ask to hear something in the foreign language they whip out a translation dictionary, look up a couple words, then proceed to tell you they're too lazy to think about how to right now, and tell you to eff off. Then you remember why you didn't care about them in the first place.

With One-X, Three Days Grace set the bar very high for their forthcoming album, Life Starts Now. They have fallen very short of the bar set by One-X. The first three tracks of the album set a great tone and got my hopes high, but almost no other song met the heights reached by the first three. Many of you have heard "Break", I'm sure, so there is no need for an explanation of how awesome it is. "Bitter Taste" is the album opener, and stays true to a classic sound Three Days Grace made their own on One-X. "World So Cold" is a generic rock song, but it is done so well it doesn't matter. Literally every track after these three dissapointed me except "Last To Know". "Last To Know" is memorable for its piano and relatable lyrics. It's just too bad the rest of Life Starts Now couldn't have the same originality these four tracks have. I am a HUGE Three Days Grace fan, their first cd was very good, and One-X blew my mind, but this one could've been a lot better. Cliche lyrics and recycled chord progressions give it a sound that is boring, and unoriginal. I am hoping for much more on their next effort.

Adam's vocals aren't enough to save this album from the being the mediocre nightmare that it is, not a single song with interesting instrumental ideas present here. The lyrics are cheesy and even Adam's vocals sound awkward, except perhaps on "World So Cold". Other than that, this was an absolute train wreck of a follow up to their last album.

It's been 6 years since the release of their Platinum selling Self Titled debut, and these guys are still going strong. Around the time of their second release "One X", everyone wondered if these guys could actually top their first album.. and we all know the result of that.. yet another Platinum selling album, followed by a live dvd, which was also great. Come 2009, we have their third release "Life Starts Now" an album I thought, would be almost impossible, after an album like "One X"! Surprisingly, I'd say, this album is up to par with "One X", But different altogether. More solos can be heard this time around.. different, but good! The first single "Break" starts off with "Billy Jean" like beats, but then it literally breaks into signature 3DG riffing.. amazing bass work in this song. This is a more mellow album, if compared to the last two albums.. but in no way short of quality ~ "World So Cold" is like a testament to 3DG's past efforts, its pure 3DG style rock from start to finish! "The Good Life" is like this albums "Riot". Album highlights would be the tracks "No More" (its got one of those choruses that just stick in your head) & "Last To Know" (good piano work building up to a strong climax) The rest of the album is just as good, like I said, not on the same pace as the last 2 albums, comparatively more mellow.. but on its own its a great 3rd effort! Right now the song "Without You" seems to be stuck in my head, I just love the way it starts and the solo towards the end. All in all a great album from a great band who never fail to surprise! Nowadays it so easy to get complete discographies from those torrent sites.. even new albums way before their release date!! Nothing can be done about it though.. piracy IMO cant be stopped! But what we could do, as true fans, is buy the mp3's or even the cd's, to credit bands like 3DG for what they are worth. It's bands like 3DG that are actually worth paying the amount for! Cheers to 3DG for making yet another KicK@$$ album. Buy it, you will not be disappointed ;o)

This album's got a high variety with different atmospheres. I like No More and World So Cold best, and Adam does a great job over the whole album. It just suffers under its plainness. The lyrics try to be more socio-critical, but aren't that intense as they have been on One-X.

Three Days Grace is back with their third major release. Once again, they present anger in their songs that will easily climb to the top of the charts. The radio-friendly songs are on par with their previous releases. What really breaks them here is that while their first two albums had other songs that were listenable to good, Life Starts Now does not seem to have as many, if any at all. Many of the songs are meh but will soon be forgotten. This album is not horrible but there is so much room for improvement. Let's see what Three Days Grace has in store three years from now.
